Ryobi Kiso’s 2Q net profit falls 70% to $3m

Ryobi Kiso Holdings, the ground engineering specialist and provider of bored piling and geoservices, today reported a 70.1% y-o-y fall in net profit to $3 million for the second quarter ended 31 December 2010 (2Q11).

Revenue posted was $31.5 million in 2Q11, an increase by $5 million or 18.5% from $26.5 million in 2Q10 largely due to an increase in value of work done for on-going and completed projects; and new piling projects secured. These major private and public sector projects include The Scala, Flamingo Valley, Edusports and HDB Bukit Panjang N4 C14.

Longcheer posts 60% fall in 2Q net profit to $3m

Longcheer Holdings, the leading designer of mobile phones from China, says net profit attributable to shareholders fell 60% to RMB15.6 million ($3.03 million) for the three months ended Dec 31, 2010 (2QFY11).

Revenue declined 3% to RMB1 billion due mainly to decline in average selling prices although total shipment volume increased 40% from 5.76 million units in 2QFY10 to 8.04 million units in 2QFY11.

Datapulse Technology reports 23% fall in 1Q net profit to $3m

Mainboard-listed Datapulse Technology, one of the leading total solution providers of CD and DVD services in the Asia Pacific region, reported its first quarter results for the financial year 2011.

For 1Q FY2011, revenue increased by 4.6% from $20.5 million to $21.4 million. The group continued to enjoy the usual higher level of business activities from year-end orders with the increase in revenue attributed to certain higher value kitting projects undertaken during 1Q FY2011.

Hoe Leong Corp sees 1H net profit of $3m

Mainboard-listed Hoe Leong Corporation, the supplier of heavy equipment parts and vessel charterer, says net profit attributable to owners of the company increased by 276.8% to $3 million for the half year ended 30 June 2010 (HY2010) from $0.8 million in HY2009 as a result of improved revenue and gross profit performance as well as stable operating expenses.

For HY2010, the group recorded an increase of 13.5% to $32.8 million from $28.9 million  in HY2009. This was mainly attributable to revenue increase from all its business segments – namely Design and Manufacture, Trading and Distribution; and Barge and Vessel Chartering.

Fuxing China 2Q net profit more than double to $3m

Zipper manufacturer Fuxing China Group says net profit surged 205% to RMB14.9 million ($2.9 million) on a near 70% increase in revenue to RMB204.3 million for the three months ended 30 June 2010 (2Q2010).

The strong 2Q2010 performance boosted the group’s 1H2010 net profit by 148% to RMB25.8 million and its revenue by 55% to RMB312.4 million.

Ban Joo records turnaround profit of $3m

After four consecutive financial years of losses, Ban Joo says it has finally achieved a turnaround in net profit of $3 million for the 18 months ended 31 March 2010 (FP2010), compared to a net loss of $28 million in the previous corresponding period, although revenue declined 37% to $12.2 million from $19.4 million.

The turnaround was mainly due to an $18.9 million reduction in impairment loss on trade receivables, a $3 million decline in interest expenses, and a $4.9 million reversal of surplus interest expense accrued in prior years following a full settlement of bank borrowings.

Koh Brothers Group records 166% jump in net profit to $3m

Koh Brothers Group, the construction, property development and specialist engineering solutions provider, today reported a 166% surge in net profit attributable to shareholders to $3 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2010 (1QFY2010), compared to the previous corresponding period (1QFY2009). This was achieved on the back of a 39% increase in sales to $84.8 million mainly attributable to the group’s Construction & Building Materials division.

The group’s profit before tax also surged by 262% to $3.7 million compared to $1 million in the previous corresponding period.

FJ Benjamin turns around with net profit of $3m in 3Q

FJ Benjamin, the purveyor of luxury fashion and watches, says net profit after tax was $3 million in 3Q of FY2010 compared to a net loss of $1.9 million in the previous corresponding quarter.

Group revenue grew marginally by 4% to $71.8 million from $69.1 million with increases coming from majority of markets that the group operated in.

iPhone Platform Gets 3M Health Care Dictation App

The iPhone OS is the latest platform to receive a 3M Mobile Dictation Software app, which enables health care staff to dictate notes for transcription and quick delivery to hospital systems. The app is already offered for BlackBerry and Windows Mobile platforms.

EMS Energy unit wins $3m rig refurbishment contract

EMS Energy says unit Oilfield Services & Supplies (OSS) has secured a US$2.16 million ($3 million) contract with oil operator Talisman Australasia Pty Ltd for the refurbishment of its LYR-605 Coral Sea heli-portable land-drilling rig in Singapore.

The rig will be disassembled, thoroughly cleaned, inspected, repaired as necessary, assembled, tested and re- certified before being redelivered to Talisman.

The project is scheduled for a period of three months from De 29, 2009 with the rig expected to be re-delivered to Talisman by the end of March 2010.

FBI Investigates Online Theft of $3M from School District

A school district in Schenectady County in New York reports it was robbed of $3 million in late December. According to the district, the money was looted from the school’s online bank account. Additional security precautions are now being taken.
