Roxy Pacific target raised to 55 cents by DBS Vickers

DBS Vickers lifts Roxy-Pacific (E8Z.SG) target price to $0.55 vs $0.44, based on 30% discount to higher RNAV estimate of $0.79 vs $0.63 previously, to factor in higher average selling price for developer’s Spottiswoode Park Singapore residential project and contributions from 2 upcoming launches. Keeps Trading Buy call.

DBS Vickers says Roxy also expected to benefit from Singapore’s strong hospitality sector as it owns 558-room Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel, which accounted for 19.5% of group revenue for first 9 months of 2010; “contributions from the hotel segment can help to smoothen out the lumpy contributions from the property development segment.”

XinRen Aluminum offers 198m new shares at 55 cents each

XinRen Aluminum Holdings, the producer of primary aluminum in China, today launched its initial public offering of 198 million offering shares (subject to the over-allotment option) at $0.55 each in conjunction with its listing on the SGX Mainboard.

The offering consists of an international placement of 186 million shares to institutional investors as well as a public offer of 12 million shares.

GIC buys 5.5% stake in China Kanghui

Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC has bought 1.2 million American Depositary Shares or a 5.5% stake in medical device-maker China Kanghui Holdings, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

The filing did not give the price of the purchase, but GIC’s stake is currently valued at US$15 million ($20.3 million) based on the firm’s market value of US$278.8 million.

GIC has been more active on the equity markets since last year after it turned cautious during the financial crisis.

The fund had reduced exposure to listed stocks by 10% between July 2007 and September 2008.

Thaicom shares rise 5.5% on Thai plan to buy stake from Temasek

Thaicom Pcl, Thailand’s satellite monopoly, rose to its highest level in two months in Bangkok trading after Thailand’s government said it plans to offer to buy Temasek Holdings Pte’s stake in the company.

The stock rose 5.5% to 5.75 baht at 10:02 a.m. local time, its highest level since April 7.

Super Coffeemix posts 55% jump in net profit to $40.4m

Super Coffeemix Manufacturing, the manufacturer and distributor of instant coffee and convenience food products, posted a 55% jump in net profit to $40.4 million for the financial year ended Dec 31 2009 (FY09) due to higher gross profit margin and a net gain from investment securities.

This occurred despite a 1% decrease in revenue to $296.3 million in FY09 from $300.2 million in FY08 mainly due to lower demand from the Mongolia, South Africa and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) markets. However, the group’s core markets of Southeast Asia and East Asia continued to perform well and grow.

Macquarie International Infrastructure Fund to divest 55% stake in Canadian Aged Care for $91.5m

Macquarie International Infrastructure Fund (MIIF) says Leisureworld Senior Care Corporation has filed a preliminary prospectus with the Canadian securities regulatory authorities in relation to a proposed initial public offering of common shares.

With the net proceeds of the IPO, Leisureworld will acquire 100% of the ownership interests in the Canadian Aged Care (CAC) portfolio (also known as Leisureworld Senior Care LP) from Macquarie Power & Infrastructure Income Fund and Macquarie Group.

Singapore’s economy may expand 5.5% next year, MAS survey shows

Singapore’s economy may grow faster next year than economists initially predicted as manufacturing and private consumption rebound, a central bank survey showed.
 
Gross domestic product may expand 5.5% in 2010, after shrinking 2% this year, according to the median forecast in a quarterly survey of economists by the Monetary Authority of Singapore released today. That compares with a September forecast for 4.5% growth next year and the government’s estimate of between 3% and 5%.
