Google Instant Adds $5M a Week to Google’s Search Revenues

Google may say it didn’t launch Instant to make more bucks from Google.com searches, but that’s exactly what has happened since Instant launched Sept. 8. – When Google launched Google Instant to the market in September, financial

Oriental Food to acquire China steel product manufacturer for $5m

Oriental Food (Holdings) says the company, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Oriental Investments Group, has entered into a conditional share sale and purchase agreement to acquire the entire issued and paid up share capital of Jiangyin Dingsheng Jinshu Yayan Co. from vendor Li Yi for RMB25 million ($4.9 million).

RMB20 million will be paid to the vendor within one month from the completion of the proposed acquisition with the balance to be paid within six months from the completion of the acquisition.

Sinotel wins $5m per annum China Telecom deal

Sinotel Technologies, the provider of wireless telecommunications infrastructure and solutions in China, says the grouo has inked a contract with Beijing Tong Lian Da Communications Technology to provide base station monitoring and diagnostics services to China Telecom worth RMB25.3 million ($5 million) per annum.

The system will monitor and diagnose the performance of some 35,000 base stations and generate data and key indicators for evaluation on a timely basis. Some of its capabilities are the ability to report faults, downtime, call-drop frequencies and signal strengths with the aim to improve network coverage thereby enhancing end-user’s experience.

Thomson Medical Centre posts 43.5% growth in net profit to $5m for 3Q

Thomson Medical Centre, the private healthcare provider for women and children, has posted a 43.5% growth in net profit after tax to $4.9 million for the three months ended 31 May 2010 (Q3 FY2010).

Thomson Medical says the growth was contributed by stronger performance from both of its core business segments, Hospital Operations and Ancillary Services and Specialised and Other Services.

BBR wins $5m contract to do foundation piling works for The Vision

Mainboard-listed BBR Holdings (S) has secured a $4.9 million contract to undertake piling works for The Vision condominium development at West Coast Crescent.

The contract was awarded to BBR’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Singapore Piling & Civil Engineering, by Team Design Architects on behalf of the developer Grand Waterfront Development, a member of Hong Kong’s Cheung Kong Group. The ground work on Singapore’s tallest waterfront residence has already begun and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

Tiger Air’s passenger numbers soar 54% to 5m in FY2010/2011

Tiger Airways Holdings says in 507,000 passengers chose to fly with Tiger Airways in April this year, 45% more than the 349,000 passengers in April last year. Average Load Factors — the number of seats sold as a percentage of total seats available — increased 3 percentage points to 84%.

Hersing’s 1Q net profit more than tripled to $5m

Hersing Corporation, the property agency and the provider of self-storage services, says profit after tax more than tripled from $1.6 million to $5 million for the quarter. Total group revenue for the quarter, at $63.3 million, was 92% higher than the $33 million in the corresponding period last year.

Tiger Air posts 54% rise in passenger numbers to 5m for FY09

Tiger Airways Holdings today announced its operating statistics for March 2010 and for the full financial year ended 31 March 2010.

For the month of March 2010, 488,000 passengers chose to fly with Tiger Airways, a 51% increase over last year. Average Load Factors – the number of seats sold as a percentage of total seats available – increased 3 percentage points to 84%.

China Flexible Packaging posts 328% rise in net profit to $5m for 1Q

China Flexible Packaging Holdings, the manufacturer of biaxially-oriented polypropylene film in China, says net profit for the three months ending 31 January 2010 (1QFY2010) rose 328% y-o-y to RMB24.9 million ($5.1 million) due to an increase in sales as well as the improvement on gross profit margin over this period.

GMG Global back to profitability in 4Q with earnings of $5m

GMG Global, the planter, tapper, processor and exporter of natural rubber, says group turnover remained stable at $61.1 million for the three months ended 31 December 2009 (4Q2009).

For the first nine months of FY2009, GMG Global was affected by lower rubber prices and only returned to profitability in 4Q as rubber prices gradually recovered from their lows. Thus, net profit attributable to equity holders for 4Q was $5 million.

CSC Holdings posts 39% drop in profit after tax to $5m for 3Q

CSC Holdings, the homegrown foundation and geotechnical engineering specialist, has posted a profit after tax to $5 million for the three months ended Dec 31, down 39% from $8.2 million a year earlier.

Revenue fell 41.3% to $72.3 million from $123.1 million.
