STX OSV +8.7%; Secures shipbuilding contract

STX OSV (MS7.SG) extends gains, +8.7% at $1.00 vs $0.955 at the end of the morning session, as a midday announcement by the company of a new shipbuilding contract piques interest.

The Norway-based firm will build a platform supply vessel for an unnamed international company, bringing the total number of ships under construction to 50.

CentraLand off 8.7%; Hard to get excited: Trader

Thinly-traded CentraLand (E3S.SG) down 8.7% at $0.42, giving up bulk of yesterday’s 9.5% gain, with market hardly paying heed to private equity group Warburg Pincus’ RMB650 million ($128 million) investment in 2 of China-based developer’s mall projects, says Dow Jones.

"There’s such low trading liquidity in the shares that it’s hard to get excited over this company," says trader at foreign house. Since listing in February 2008, stock still trading below its $0.50 IPO price, not helped by slew of China housing-market curbs in past months.

Mapletree posts 87% profit jump, forecasts growth: Update

Mapletree Investments, the real estate unit of Singapore’s state investment firm Temasek Holdings, posted an 87% surge in full-year profit and said it plans to almost double assets in five years.

Net income rose to $393.8 million in the year ended March 31 from $210.3 million the previous year, helped by new developments and gains from the increased value of its holdings, the Singapore-based company said at a press briefing in the city-state today. Total assets under management climbed 9% to $12.9 billion in the year.

Tritech Group records 8.7% fall in net profit to $6.4m for full year

Tritech Group, the ground engineering specialist, says net profit decreased 8.7% to $6.4 million in the financial year ending Mar 31 (FY2010) from $7 million in FY2009. Group revenue increased by 2.4% to $42.3 million from $41.3 million.

Falcon Energy posts 87% rise in net profit to $11.2m for first quarter

Falcon Energy Group has announced a net profit after tax and non-controlling interest of US$8.1 million ($11.2 million) for the three months to 31 March 2010, up 87% over the US$4.3 million it achieved for the previous corresponding period.

MIIF to sell 8.7% stake in Arqiva for $245m

Macquarie International Infrastructure Fund, the owner of toll roads and port facilities jointly owned by Macquarie Group Ltd. and Abu Dhabi Investment Co., said it agreed to sell its 8.7% stake in Arqiva, a UK telecommunications business, for $244.9 million. Macquarie Infrastructure rose 0.9% to close at 54 cents last night.

Banyan Tree posts 87% rise in 4Q operating profit to $20.4m

Banyan Tree Holdings, the manager and developer of resorts, hotels and spas, posted a 87% increase in operating profit to $20.4 million for the fourth quarter (4Q09), boosted by revenue growth from hotels and resorts in Thailand coupled with group-wide cost-saving measures.

The group registered revenue of $94 million, an increase of $3.1 million or 3% compared to 4Q08.

Hotel Investments segment achieved revenue of S$57.9 million in 4Q09, an increase of S$5.3 million or 10% compared to 4Q08. All 3 major regions i.e. Thailand, Maldives and China recorded higher revenue compared to the same period last year with Thailand accounting for 92% of the overall increase.
