Tadić apologizes during Vukovar visit

Serbian and Croatian presidents Boris Tadić and Ivo Josipović have placed wreaths to honor Croat victims at a memorial in Ovčara, near Vukovar.
The two leaders also visited a memorial for Serb civilians killed in the town of Paulin Dvor. Both towns saw executions of prisoners and civilians during the war in 1991.

Google apologized to the Chinese Writers Association for failing to communicate properly after the authors complained Google scanned and uploaded books without authors’ permission. The writers’ association, essentially the Chinese counterpart to the U.S. Author’s Guild that along with the Association of American Publishers sued Google in 2005 for scanning copyrighted books, argued that Google should stop indexing authors’ books without permission and compensate Chinese authors whose works it included without approval. Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos issued a public apology for the deletion of two George Orwell novels, 1984 and Animal Farm, from the Kindle e-reader device.
