A Belgrade court will today and tomorrow hear the closing arguments in the trial of 14 FC Partizan supporters charged with killing a French fan. The group has been charged with brutally beating Brice Taton in Belgrade in September 2009, which led to his death in the hospital 12 days later.

Closing arguments in KLA war crimes case
The War Crimes Chamber of the Higher Court in Belgrade will today hear closing arguments in the trial of the Gnjilane Group of the so-called KLA. A total of 17 ethnic Albanians have been charged with torture and vicious murder of Serb and other civilians in the town of Gnjilane, eastern Kosovo, in 1999.

ICJ hears Russian, U.S. arguments
The public hearing in the Kosovo case continued this Tuesday in The Hague for the sixth day. After yesterday’s arguments presented by China – the first permanent member of the UN Security Council to participate in the proceedings – today the judges are hearing the arguments of Russia and the United States, and also Spain and Finland.
Serbia presents arguments in Kosovo debate
The debate on the legality of Kosovo’s unilateral proclamation of independence began today before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague. During the ten days of debates, 28 UN member-states will give their opinions on the legality of the province’s ethnic Albanians’ declaration, and the court will also hear from Kosovo government officials.

Serbia’s legal team has sent its comments on the statements filed by other countries in the Kosovo case considered by the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Last fall, the UN General Assembly ordered the world organization’s top tribunal to provide an advisory opinion on whether the ethnic Albanians’ unilateral proclamation of independence of Kosovo in February 2008 was in line with international law.
K. Albanians to send “new arguments”
Representatives of the Kosovo Albanian government in PriÅ¡tina will on July 17 send additional arguments to the International Court of Justice, reports said. The move, according to Albanian language daily Koha Ditore, will seek to “defend the legitimacy of the independence declaration”.
