Serbia to be criticized until Hague arrests

Rasim Ljajić said on Wednesday that Hague Chief Prosecutor Serge Brammertz “confirmed he wuold continue to criticize Serbia”.
This happened in his address to the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Policy, said the Ljajić, who heads Serbia’s National Council for Cooperation with the Hague.

The EU mission in Kosovo, EULEX, promised not to arrest any politicians during the election campaign, an Albanian language daily writes. Priština-based Zeri reports that this relates to politicians suspected of crime and abuse of office.

Drug arrests in Serbia, Montenegro, Italy

Four persons were arrested last night in Serbia on suspicion that they trafficked narcotics, acting as part of the Šarić gang.
Darko Šarić, a Montenegrin with a Serbian passport, is a fugitive from justice indicted in Serbia as the mastermind behind a failed attempt last year to smuggle over two tons of cocaine from South America to Europe.

Arrests after Serbia-Montenegro agreement

Interior Minister Ivica Dačić has stated that seven persons have been arrest in Serbia based on the extradition agreement signed between Serbia and Montenegro. Dačić told journalists that during Friday evening and Saturday morning, five persons were arrested in Montenegro based on the same agreement.

Iran “denies reports” of American arrests

Iran has denied a report which said that Iranian border guards had arrested seven American soldiers, according to Iranian state TV quoted by Reuters.
Earlier reports quoting the Fars news agency said the soldiers had been held recently with two Iranians near the border with Pakistan, for allegedly trying to enter Iran illegally.

EULEX: Arrests in north Kosovo

EULEX Deputy Head Roy Reeve stated Friday that the EU police will soon start arresting certain people in northern Kosovo who broke the law. Reeve said in an interview for Kosovska Mitrovica Radio Kontakt Plus that EULEX plans to apprehend several individuals from northern Kosovo, adding that the investigations are under way and that results can be expected soon.

Moscow protest ends in arrests

Fifteen people were arrested in Moscow on June 28 during a protest against Mayor Yury Luzhkov, RFE/RL’s Russian Service reports. Priština daily Express writes that three of the largest parties in Kosovo will be hit by the arrests of some of their senior officials soon. The daily’s source states that EULEX is not investigating only cases of corruption in the current government, but of all officials in Kosovo since 2000.

Rasim Ljajić said that the recently adopted Srebrenica resolution cannot be a substitute for arresting Hague fugitive Ratko Mladić.
