Asiatravel.com Holdings downgraded to ‘hold’ by DBS

DBS Vickers Securities in a Nov 30 research report says: “While revenue was up 24% q-o-q to $25.6 million in 4Q-FY10 on the back of new business lines, Asiatravel.com recorded a net loss of $0.8 million and FY2010 net profit came in 71% lower y-o-y at $1.6 million, much below our estimates.

DBSV Downgrades Asiatravel.com to Hold vs Buy

DBS Vickers downgrades Asiatravel.com (5AM.SG) to Hold from Buy, cuts target $0.40 from $0.63 after group “plunged” into red in 4Q. 

Notes, higher operating expenses incurred to start up new products contributed to the poor performance, while low utilization of shuttle bus fleet, increased promotional activities added to the cost burden.

Shares of online travel reservation site Asiatravel.com <ATVE.SI> fell as much as 6.7% to a near 5-month low after it reported lower-than-expected full-year net profit, a local trader said.

Asiatravel.com posts 64% fall in full-year net profit to $2.1m

Asiatravel.com Holdings, the pan-Asia online travel and hotel reservation service provider, recorded a 16.7% increase in revenue to $83.9 million for its financial year ended 30 September 2010 (FY2010).

Higher operating expenses due to the group’s business expansion in the year however shaved its net profit down to $2.1 million, a decrease of 63.8%.

Asiatravel.com, the pan-Asia online travel and hotel reservation service provider with network of offices in 8 countries, says it has launched the Asiatravel Cash Reward Program today to reward loyal customers and to encourage repeat bookings. Asiatravel.com target raised to $0.53 by DBS Vickers

DBS Vickers lifts Asiatravel.com (5AM.SG) target price to $0.53 from $0.42 after rolling over valuation to FY11, says Dow Jones.

“We expect FY11 to be a recovery year,” says broker.

DBS Vickers notes online hotel reservation company’s performance this year bogged down by high start-up losses associated with package tours designed for Resorts World Sentosa’s Universal Studios theme park, plus lower bookings due to social unrest in Thailand, reduced room rates in Dubai following supply-demand mismatch.

Still, keeps Hold call on view valuations stretched; “we would only look to re-rate once there is more evidence of sustainable earnings recovery.” Shares flat at $0.46.

Asiatravel.com Holdings posts net profit of $1.1m in 2Q

Asiatravel.com Holdings, the pan-Asian online travel and hotel reservation service provider, posted a net profit of $1.1 million for its 2QFY2010 ended 31 March 2010.

Lower room rates and lower visitor arrivals in key destinations Thailand and Dubai caused a 5.9% dip in 2QFY2010 revenue to $17.4 million, and subsequently resulted in the drop of 40.9% in net profit from $1.8 million in 2QFY2009.

Asiatravel.com posts 22% fall in 1Q net profit to $1m

Asiatravel.com Holdings, the pan-Asia online travel and hotel reservation service provider, posted a net profit of $1 million for its 1QFY2010 ended 31 December 2009, a drop of 21.8% on-year. Revenue fell 6.5% to $18.9 million from $20.2 million.

Asiatravel.com says although the economic recovery is moderating the decline in average hotel room rates in 1QFY2010 compared to the rates in the last two quarters of FY2009, the average room rates are still about 15% below those of 1Q FY2009.

Earnings were above our expectations, led by lower tax rates and resilient demand for its online travel services. The group proposed a final dividend of 1 cent per share.

Asiatravel.com posts net profit of $5.5m for full year

Asiatravel.com Holdings, the regional online travel and hotel reservation service provider, posted a net profit attributable to shareholders of $5.5 million for its FY2009 results ended Sept 30, 2009, an improvement of 0.7% over that in FY2008.

Revenue for the full year rose 4.3% to $89.4 million from $85.7 million.
