R H Energy awarded $11.4m in contracts to design plant upgrades

Mainboard-listed R H Energy says it has won contracts worth US$8.7 million ($11.4 million), to provide process engineering design, technical services and commissioning for the upgrading of a caprolactum plant with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tonnes and a special epoxy plant with an annual production capacity of 50,000 tonnes for the Sinopec group companies.

Nobel Peace Prize awarded in absentia

The Nobel Committee has formally awarded jailed Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo its 2010 Peace Prize in absentia, RFE/RL reports. “Liu has only exercised his civil rights. He has not done anything wrong. He must be released,” Nobel Committee chairman Thorbjoern Jagland said in a speech before placing the award, embossed with Liu’s initials, on an empty chair on the podium to highlight his absence from the ceremony.

Technics unit awarded turnkey construction and service contract of $25.6m

Mainboard-listed Technics Oil and Gas, the leading full service integrator of compression systems and process modules for the global offshore oil and gas sector, today announced that its 51% owned subsidiary, Norr Systems, was awarded the contract for two turnkey construction and a service contract worth $25.6 million for two vessels.

ST Engineering awarded $23m for Pneumatic Waste Collection System in Tianjin Eco-City

ST Engineering says its environmental engineering subsidiary in China, ST Environment Services & Technologies (STE&T) has been awarded a RMB113 million ($22.6 million) contract to provide a proprietary loop-based Pneumatic Waste Collection System (PWCS) to collect recyclables, non-recyclables and food waste in Tianjin’s Eco-City’s Eco-Business Park.

The deal is inked with Tianjin Eco-City Sheng Chuang Investment & Development, a wholly-owned company of Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City Investment and Development Co. (SSTEC), the master developer of the 30 sq-km Sino-Singapore Tianjin Eco-City.

ST Aerospace awarded Mindef contract to acquire 12 M-346 aircraft and ground-based training system

The Ministry of Defence has awarded a contract to ST Aerospace, a unit of ST Engineering, to acquire 12 M-346 aircraft and a ground-based training system for the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Advanced Jet Trainer (AJT) replacement programme.

The aircraft will be provided by Alenia Aermacchi, while the training system will be supplied by Boeing. ST Aerospace will undertake the overall management of the AJT programme. The 12 M-346 aircraft and the ground-based training system are expected to be delivered from 2012.

The acquisitions of the M-346 aircraft and the ground-based training system mark a significant milestone in the RSAF’s force development, enhancing the capabilities and operational readiness of the Singapore Armed Forces, says Mindef in its press release.

Technics awarded $35m contract from Vietsovpetro

Mainboard-listed Technics Oil and Gas, the integrator of compression systems and process modules for the offshore oil and gas sector, today announced that it has secured another EPCC contract from JV Vietsovpetro (VSP) for the provisioning of the topside equipments for wellhead satellite platforms named RC-6 and RC-7 for the “Dragon” oilfield in offshore Vietnam, worth an estimated $35 million.

Chip Eng Seng awarded $90m HDB contract for building works at Hougang

Chip Eng Seng Corporation says wholly-owned subsidiary, Chip Eng Seng Contractors (1988) Pte Ltd, has been awarded a $90 million by the Housing & Development Board for building works at Hougang Neighbourhood 9 Contract 12.

The contract comprises of the construction of six blocks of residential buildings with 699 dwelling units, a multi-storey carpark and community facilities. The construction period is approximately 31 months.

Biosensors International Group announced today that it has received CE Mark approval for both 33mm and 36mm lengths of its BioMatrix Flex drug-eluting stent (DES) system, further expanding the currently available range of 8mm to 28mm lengths. Lum Chang awarded main contract to build Esparina Residences EC at Sengkang for $119.4m

Lum Chang Holdings says its unit Lum Chang Building Contractors has been awarded the main contract6 by FCL Compassvale for the design, construction and maintenance of Esparina Residences, an executive housing development at Sengkang for $119.4 million.

The works comprise the building of nine blocks of 18-storey apartments and a 4-storey carpark with communal facilities. The 19,000 sq-m site is located along Compassvale Bow near Buangkok MRT Station.

Construction works will begin in December and is estimated to take 32 months to complete.

Lum Chang says the latest award brings the total balue of contracts still in progress to $736.8 million.

TSH Corp. unit awarded $11.7m deal to dispose expired ammo from Taiwan defense ministry

TSH Corporation says wholly owned subsidiary, Explomo Technical Services, has been awarded a contract to dispose expired ammunitions from the Ministry of National Defense of Taiwan. The value of the contract is US$8.72 million ($11.7 million) and it is scheduled to be completed by 2011.

ST Engineering awarded $66.5m to build waste management facility in Brunei

ST Engineering announced today that a consortium formed by its marine arm, Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd (ST Marine) and its Brunei partner QAF Limited, has been awarded a $66.5m contract to design and construct a waste management facility in Sungai Paku, Brunei. The project will comprise an engineered landfill, a transfer station plus three years of operations and maintenance of the facility.

Pteris Global awarded baggage handling system project in Chennai

Pteris Global says it has been awarded a baggage handling system project for Chennai International Airport, India. The project is scheduled to complete in June 2011.

The company also says it has received the Letter of Award for the Changsha Huanghua International Airport baggage handling system project announced on March 9.

The aggregate contract value for these two projects is $28 million.
