Silverlake Axis agrees collaboration deal with Hitachi Information Systems

Silverlake Axis says it has entered into a business collaboration agreement with Hitachi Information Systems (HIS), for the development and outsourcing of various financial and distribution systems.

Under the agreement, Silverlake Axis and HIS will form a business collaboration relationship to provide system architecture, network services and outsourcing services through Silverlake Japan (SJL), a fully-owned subsidiary of SAL, to prospective Japanese customers.

Earthquake in Chile Shortened Day, Shifted Axis, NASA Says

Last month’s massive earthquake in Chile was powerful enough to shift the earth’s axis and shorten the length of a day by 1.26 millionths of a second, researchers at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory say.

The 8.8-magnitude earthquake that rocked Chile and sent a
wave of tsunamis across the world may have been powerful enough to slightly
tilt the Earths axis and shorten the length of a day, according to NASA

Silverlake Axis bags cards & logistics solutions contracts in China for $70m

Silverlake Axis has secured two new contracts in China for a total value of $70 million to provide cards (credit, debit and loyalty cards) and logistics IT solutions to HNA Group Co.

In the cards agreement, Silverlake Axis will grant the HNA Group a perpetual licence to use its card-processing software as well as implement and provide application support services for a period of five years for a total contract value of $20 million.
