Chasen Holdings bags China relocation contracts worth $11.4m

Chasen Holdings, the relocation specialist for sophisticated machinery and equipment, says its Shanghai unit has successfully clinched two relocation projects in China. The projects, which involve the relocation of TFT LCD plants, have a combined value of RMB58.45 million ($11.37 million).

The first project, worth RMB8.45 million, involves the turnkey relocation of a 3rd-generation LCD factory from Kunshan in Jiangsu to Changsha in Hunan. Services rendered by Chasen Hi-Tech will include packing and moving out from the Kunshan plant, transporting the equipment to and moving them into the Changsha plant. The project will be conducted from January to March 2011.

PEC bags $78m utilities project works

PEC says it has won a $78 million project works contract from Tuas Power Utilities (TPU).

Under the contract, PEC will provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for a pipe rack and utilities piping reticulation system in TPU’s Tembusu Multi-Utilities Complex in Jurong Island.

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings) says the group has entered into 15 shipbuilding contracts between Sept 1 and Dec 31 2010 with a total contract value of US$415.30 million ($536.4 million).

SembMarine bags US$400m contract to build 2 jackup rigs for Noble

Sembcorp Marine’s subsidiary Jurong Shipyard has secured two turnkey contracts with a combined value of up to US$400 million ($525.2 million) to build two jackup rigs with options for another four jackup rigs from a subsidiary of Noble Corporation.

If all four of the options are exercised, the total estimated value of the six jackup rigs is expected to be in the region of US$1.2 billion.

Heatec Jietong bags $2.4m worth of new orders

Catalist-traded Heatec Jietong Holdings says the group has secured seven new orders worth a total of $2.4 million.

All the new orders were secured by the company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Heatec Jietong, which provides piping and heat exchanger services.

Of these, two were for air-cooled heat exchangers which are scheduled to be delivered at the end of this month and in mid-Jan, while another two were slated for delivery in early and end February.

The fifth order is for shell and tube heat exchangers which are scheduled for delivery in mid-Feb. The remaining two orders are for equipment package design and supply which are scheduled for delivery in March.

Seroja Investments bags coal delivery contract worth $194m

Seroja Investments says subsidiary PT Pulau Seroja Jaya (PT PSJ) has entered into a coal barging agreement with PT Adaro Indonesia.

The coal barging agreement was won by PT PSJ through a competitive bidding process where PT PSJ emerged as the bidding party which made the best offer. Through this deal, PT PSJ will further strengthen and enlarge their strategic relationship with PT Adaro Indonesia, which is one of the largest coal producers in Indonesia.

STX OSV bags $281m contract to build 4 platform supply vessels

STX OSV Holdings says it has secured new contracts with Farstad Shipping, a major international supplier of large, modern offshore support vessels. Valued at approximately NOK 1.3 billion ($281 million), the contracts include a total of four Platform Supply Vessels scheduled for delivery in 2012 and 2013.

Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of STX OSV Roy Reite says, “We have had a long-standing relationship with Farstad Shipping, with approximately 30 vessels delivered over the last 20 years. We are very pleased that Farstad again chose our global operations for their newbuilding program, and we look forward to continuing the good relationship with Farstad.”

Midas Holdings’ aluminium alloy division, Jilin Midas Aluminium Industries Co., has clinched a €20.3 million ($36.5 million) contract from Bombardier Transportation GmbH to supply aluminium alloy extrusion profiles, including fabricated parts, for the SBB Double Deck Train Project in Switzerland.

Kreuz Holdings, the subsea service provider for the oil and gas industry, today says that a subsea installation contract worth US$7.6 million ($10 million) was signed with a leading offshore construction company in the oil and gas business located in the Middle East. The scope of work comprises mainly of subsea installation works, which is scheduled to be completed by Q2 2011.

Yongnam bags $27.5m in MRT Downtown Line 2 contracts

Yongnam Holdings, the structural steel contractor and specialist civil engineering solutions provider, says the group has been awarded its second contract for the MRT Downtown Line 2 (DTL 2) valued at $27.5 million.

The contract is part of the C921 contract package, one of several packages for the DTL 2.

NeraTel Malaysian unit bags $1.4m in purchase orders

Nera Telecommunications says the company’s associated company, Nera (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, has received RM3.1 million ($1.4 million) in purchase orders from a mobile operator in Asia for the supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of Microwave Radio Equipment. The purchase orders are not expected to have a significant impact on the performance of the group for the current financial year.

Koon Holdings unit bags 2 contracts valued at $17m

Koon Holdings says wholly-owned subsidiary, Koon Construction and Transport Co., has been awarded the following new projects worth a total of $16.9 million.

One is a $12.1 million contract from Zhen Hua (Singapore) Engineering to supply, install and extract temporary FSP4 steel sheet piles used as cut-off wall and temporary cofferdam installation works for 8 to 33 months.

The other is a $4.8 million contract from the Housing and Development Board for the coastal protection and restoration of mangrove biodiversity at Pulau Tekong. The project will last 10 months.

ST Engineering bags $84m maintenance contracts from T’Way Air

ST Engineering today announced that its aerospace arm, ST Aerospace, has been awarded two maintenance contracts by T’Way Air.

The first is for the Maintenance-By-the-Hour (MBHTM) component support of T’Way Air’s Boeing 737-800, and the other is an engine maintenance programme for T’Way Air’s CFM56-7B engines. The total value of both contracts is US$63 million ($84 million). Both contracts commence immediately and will stretch over 10 years.

China Hongxing Sports bags $198m worth of orders from Xiamen trade fair

China Hongxing Sports says it received an order book with RMB 1 billion ($198 million) worth of orders secured at the 2011 Spring/Summer Collection trade fair, held in Xiamen in August 2010.

The August trade fair has drawn strong interest from more than 2,200 participants, boosted by the introduction of about 180 new footwear models and roughly 400 apparel and accessories designs. The order book of RMB 1 billion represented a 12.6% increase as compared to that held in August 2009.

Nera Telecommunications says the company has received purchase orders from a broadcast solutions provider for the supply of broadcast transmitters. The orders, with an aggregate value of $8.7 million, are not expected to have a significant impact on the performance of the group for the current financial year.

BH Global Marine bags two major FPSO contracts worth $20m

BH Global Marine, the specialist in lightings, cables and electrical equipment for the marine & offshore and oil & gas industries, has secured two major contracts which involved floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels.

With a total contract value of over $20 million, management expects 30% of the orders to be executed in financial year ending 31 December 2010 (FY2010), while the remaining will be recorded in FY2011.

Sound Global +3.5%; Bags its largest-yet BOT job

Sound Global (E6E.SG) +3.5% at $0.74, may end higher for first time this week, as China-based water treatment firm signs agreement for its biggest ever build-operate-transfer project to construct, run plant in Jiangsu Province’s Lianyungang City, according to Dow Jones.

Total investment estimated at RMB1.38 billion ($277 million), with concession period of 30 years, giving company long-term income stream. Sound Global expects contract to contribute to earnings from this year. Project comes as investors still disappointed by company’s recent decision to shelve Hong Kong dual-listing plan.

Current gains accompanied by modest volume, suggesting underlying demand remains subdued. This week’s $0.775 high may cap upside.
