Montenegrin PM on private visit

Montenegro’s new Prime Minister Igor LukÅ¡ić had talks with the president and prime minister of Serbia Boris Tadić and Mirko Cvetković. This took place during his private visit to Belgrade on Thursday, Beta news agency reported.

SPS leader: DS wants two-party system

Ivica Dačić said the ruling Democrats (DS) and the opposition SNS have a common goal of creating a two-party system in Serbia. Analysts: Election campaign begins

A statement made by MlaÄ‘an Dinkić taking “some credit” for Boris Tadić’s presidential victory in 2008 raises several questions, say analysts. They are concerned about the state of relations within the ruling coalition, and also that the tone of the statement made during recent interview could mean that an election campaign has already begun.

MlaÄ‘an Dinkić says Boris Tadić won his second term in office as Serbia’s president “partly thanks to the promises Dinkić made”.

Tadić most popular, poll says

According to a survey conducted by the Politikum agency, Serbians have most confidence in Boris Tadić – 27 percent, daily Blic reports.

Tomislav Nikolić, leader of the opposition Serb Progressive Party (SNS), came in second with 21.4 percent – 5.6 percent less than the leader of the ruling DS and Serbian president.

Tadić only candidate for DS president

The Democratic Party (DS) has determined a list of candidates for the 14th party elections.

The only candidate for president of the DS is Boris Tadić who was nominated by 164 municipal boards, the DS has announced.

Tadić apologizes during Vukovar visit

Serbian and Croatian presidents Boris Tadić and Ivo Josipović have placed wreaths to honor Croat victims at a memorial in Ovčara, near Vukovar.
The two leaders also visited a memorial for Serb civilians killed in the town of Paulin Dvor. Both towns saw executions of prisoners and civilians during the war in 1991.

President’s cabinet confirms Croatia visit

The cabinet of the Serbian president confirmed on Tuesday in Belgrade that Boris Tadić will visit Croatia next week.
Tadić will travel to the Ovčara memorial near Vukovar, and to Paulin Dvor near Osijek.
