Beastie Boys Album Details

BEASTIE BOYS SWITCH ONE ALBUM FOR ANOTHER

Beastie Boys

In what can only be described as a bizarre coincidence, following an exhaustive re-sequence marathon, Beastie Boys have verified that their
new album Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 will be comprised of the same 16 tracks originally slated
for inclusion on Hot Sauce Committee Part 1. The record (part 2 that is) will be released as
planned in spring 2011 on Capitol.

The tracks originally recorded for Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 (which now are actually back on Part
1
) have now apparently been bumped to make room for the former Hot Sauce Committee Part 1
material. Wait, what?

“I know it’s weird and confusing, but at least we can say unequivocally that Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 is
coming out on time, which is more than I can say about Part 1, and really is all that matters in the end.” says
Adam “MCA” Yauch. “We just kept working and working on various sequences for part 2, and after a year
and half of spending days on end in the sequencing room trying out every possible combination, it finally became
clear that this was the only way to make it work. Strange but true, the final sequence for Hot Sauce Committee
Part 2
works best with all its songs replaced by the 16 tracks we originally had lined up in pretty much the same
order we had them in for Hot Sauce Committee Part 1. So we’ve come full circle.”

Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 marks Yauch, Mike “Mike D” Diamond, and Adam “Ad Rock”
Horovitz
‘s first full length effort since 2007′s Grammy winning all-instrumental The Mix-Up. The new
track listing of the album is now as follows:

1. Tadlock’s Glasses
2. B-Boys In The Cut

3. Make Some Noise

4. Nonstop Disco Powerpack
5. OK

6. Too Many Rappers (featuring NAS)
7. Say It
8. The Bill Harper Collection
9. Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win (featuring Santigold)
10. Long Burn The Fire
11. Funky Donkey
12. Lee Majors Come Again
13. Multilateral Nuclear Disarmament
14. Pop Your Balloon

15. Crazy Ass Shit

16. Here’s A Little Something For Ya

Kenny Chesney Football Doc: The Boys of Fall

PREMIERES SUNDAY AUGUST 29 AT 2PM EST ON ESPN

This Sunday, August 29 at 2pm EDT, Kenny Chesney‘s 60-minute documentary on high school football Boys
of Fall
will premiere on ESPN. The focus is on the high school and to a lesser degree, college
football experiences, with emphasis not on the stars, but on those who don’t make it big. It depicts how for those
who do not go on to long, storied careers in the NFL, and the lessons learned on
the field help to shape who they are today.

Shooting began in fall 2009 as Chesney compiled football interviews and footage for the video for his new single
“The Boys of Fall,” from the new album Hemingway’s Whiskey out September 28 on BNA Records.
The film features interviews with New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton, as well as interviews with stars
such as Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, John Madden, Tony Dungy, Bill
Parcells, Nick Saban, Mack Brown, Jim Tressel
and Bobby Bowden.

For a taste of the Boys of Fall documentary, watch the extended video for Chesney’s single “The Boys of
Fall,” which features footage from the film:

Beach Boys Considering 50th Anniversary Reunion

WOULDN’T IT BE NICE

Former Beach Boys
singer/guitarist Al Jardine has told Rolling Stone that the legendary group will
reunite for a concert next year to celebrate their 50th anniversary. The lineup will include Jardine, Brian Wilson,
Mike
Love, Bruce Johnston
, and possibly early Beach Boys guitarist David Marks. Says Jardine, “We’re
definitely doing at least one
show — you heard it first. It’s a big deal. I don’t know where it will be yet, but it’ll probably be free. Golden Gate
Park was mentioned, as was the [National] Mall in Washington, D.C. and the north shore of Chicago by the beach.”

In the Rolling Stone article, Jardine also expresses hopes for a larger scale tour to follow: “I want to go all around the
world, but if this is the way it has to be, then so be it. We’re going to have to rehearse one hell of a show. My point
is, if we’re going to rehearse and make this such a wonderful show, we should take it on the road. It’s the next
logical step and it disappointments me that the other guys don’t see if that way. I mean, it really bothers me. I
know Live Nation has their fingers crossed we’ll hit the road. We’ve gone one show definite, so at least we’ve got our
foot in the door.”

Notorious for decades of infighting and lawsuits, relations between Jardine, lead singer Mike Love and
Brian Wilson have thawed considerably, to the point where the opening track “Don’t Fight The Sea” from
Jardine’s new solo album
A Postcard From California features vocals from Mike Love, Brian Wilson, Bruce
Johnston, and
the late Carl Wilson. Check it out below.

Blind Boys of Alabama & Bob Dylan To Play White House Concert

BLIND BOYS OF ALABAMA, BOB DYLAN, JOHN LEGEND & MORE

TO PERFORM AT WHITE HOUSE FOR PRESIDENT AND MRS. OBAMA

Blind Boys of Alabama

Blind Boys of Alabama have been invited to perform at a special concert at the White House on February 10. In Performance at the White House: A Celebration of Music From the Civil Rights Movement will be held in the State Dining Room, and is timed to celebrate Black History Month.

The Blind Boys will join hosts President and Mrs. Obama as well as music superstars Bob Dylan, John Legend, Seal, Jennifer Hudson, John Mellencamp, Natalie Cole and Smokey Robinson on the bill. Morgan Freeman and Queen Latifah will emcee the entire event.

The concert will be the White House’s first music event of 2010, and is the latest in a music series started last year by Michelle Obama. It will be streamed live online at Whitehouse.gov and broadcast on PBS on February 11.

The event is a particularly poignant one for the Blind Boys. “Our group started singing together in Alabama in the late 1930s, and we lived through the dark days of segregation,” says Jimmy Carter, the band’s leader and one of its founding members. “That’s why it is a great pleasure and an even greater honor to sing on this program.”

The White House concert adds to an already remarkable year for the legendary gospel group. The band opened 2010 with a series of concerts in China, then flew to New York last week where they were joined by Lou Reed for a blistering performance on the Late Show with David Letterman. Watch the video of this first time live collaboration here.

The group will be touring the rest of the spring, including upcoming concerts in Morristown, N.J. (with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band), at UCLA’s Royce Hall (with Allen Toussaint) and at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, punctuated by their induction into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in Montgomery, AL on March 25.
