Fresh off a highly successful run on the Rock the Bells tour and as the opener for Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley & Nas‘ summer tour, K’naan is back on the road with Grammy Nominated singer-songwriter Jason Mraz. K’naan will be opening for Mraz across North America through September 30 where together the artists will close the tour in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Not a stranger to life on the road, K’naan has been quite busy with touring but also in the studio where he has worked on collaborations with “Jr. Gong” and Nas for their highly anticipated album, Distant Relatives, as well as with KRS-ONE and Buckshot on their collaborative album, Survival Skills, and the currently untitled album from the English rock band, Keane.

Canada on alert as BC fires burn

Much of British Columbia in western Canada remains on high alert as high temperatures and winds continue to stoke widespread forest fires.
Some 5,300 people have fled the latest fires as thousands of firefighters try to tackle the flames.
Some 800 extra personnel have been brought in from other parts of Canada to help exhausted fire crews.
Since April, more than 2,000 fires have burned 63,000 hectares (155,700 acres) in British Columbia, officials say.
"We’re crossing our fingers for rain but it looks like it will continue to be warm and dry," British Columbia Fire Service spokeswoman Alyson Couch told the AFP news agency.
Ms Couch said the combination of hot weather and lightning had produced extreme conditions.

Some 2,300 people had to leave the town of Lillooet, some 213km (132 miles) north-east of Vancouver, as a fire burned on nearby Mount McLean.
Officials said on Monday there had been little progress in tackling a fire on Terrace Mountain near West Kelowna, AFP reported.

Two wildfires near a western Canadian city have forced the evacuation of around 17,000 people, officials say.
One of the fires near Kelowna, British Columbia, started on Saturday. It quickly grew to 300 hectares (740 acres) and destroyed up to nine homes.
A second seemingly unrelated fire broke out on Sunday some 10km (6 miles) away and has already consumed 100 hectares.
The causes of the fires are not known. A 2003 fire in the same area destroyed more than 240 homes.
No injuries or deaths have been reported in the latest fires.
More than 150 firefighters are battling the blazes, with support from helicopters and water bomber planes.
One resident told local media that big, hot embers were falling all around his home.
Fire-fighters said they were facing difficult conditions, with more hot and dry weather to come.</p
