Serbia expects Ganić arrest soon

The Serbian courts are expecting former Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency member Ejup Ganić to be arrested at any moment, officials said.

War Crimes Prosecution spokesperson Bruno Vekarić told Banja Luka daily Nezavisne Novine that he did not want to give more detailed comments on what happened on Saturday at London’s Heathrow Airport, but he said that Ganić was held for six hours and his delegation was returned to Bosnia.

Five war crimes suspects arrested

Serbian police (MUP) officers last night arrested five persons suspected of having committed war crimes, it was confirmed in Belgrade. War Crimes Prosecution spokesman Bruno Vekarić told Beta news agency this morning that arrests were connected to the crimes in Sjeverin, eastern Bosnia.

Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir Vukčević has been invited to visit the Hague Tribunal, spokesman Bruno Vekarić says. Vekarić told B92 TV on Friday in Belgrade that the prosecutor’s discussions there will focus on the transfer of some cases from the UN war crimes court.
