Singapore’s Changi Airport raises fees for passengers, aircraft

Changi Airport Group, the company that runs Singapore’s airport, will raise the fees it charges airlines for handling of passengers as well as increase the price for landing, parking planes and aerobridge use, it said in an e-mailed statement today.

Changi Airport July passenger up 16%

Singapore’s Changi Airport Group, Asia’s fifth busiest measured by number of passengers, said on Monday the number of passengers in July rose 15.9% from a year ago to 3.67 million. The airport, a major hub in Asia, also said it handled 11.8% more cargo in July from a year earlier.

Changi Airport handles 3.39 million passenger movements in May

Singapore’s Changi Airport handled almost 3.39 million passenger movements in May, an increase of 21.6% from a year earlier, according to a statement from Changi Airport Group, the airport’s operator. The number of passenger movements for the first five months of the year was more than 16.6 million, up 16.7% on-year.

Singapore airport March passenger, cargo traffic up 19%

Singapore’s Changi Airport, Asia’s fifth largest, saw an 18.8% rise in air freight movements by tonnage in March from a year ago, indicating strong demand for goods, data showed on Thursday.

The airport also recorded an 18.8% rise in the passenger movement in the same month, its third consecutive double digit growth in passenger traffic.

Singapore airport says Jan passengers up 10%

Passenger traffic at Singapore’s Changi Airport, Asia’s fifth-biggest, jumped 10.1% in January from a year earlier, its highest monthly percentage rise since 2007, signalling a sustained recovery in air travel. 
 
Changi Airport Group said on Friday it handled 3.38 million passengers last month, up from 3.07 million passengers in January 2009 and nearly 9% higher than the pre-crisis level in January 2008.

Changi airport sets passenger record in December

Passenger traffic at Singapore’s Changi Airport, Asia’s fifth-biggest, hit a monthly record in December, pointing to a sustained recovery in air travel.
 
Changi Airport Group said it handled 3.83 million passengers last month, a 9.7% rise from a year earlier and 9.1% higher than the previous monthly record set in December 2007.

Changi handled 9.2% more passengers in November

Passenger traffic at Singapore’s Changi Airport, Southeast Asia’s biggest, rose for the fourth consecutive month in November as airlines increased flights to cities around the region.

Changi handled 3.37 million passengers last month, up 9.2% from 3.08 million in November 2008.

Changi Airport handled 3.36m passengers in November

Singapore’s Changi Airport handled 3.36 million passengers in November, 9.2% more than the year before, it said in a statement e-mailed statement today. The airport received 33.4 million passengers between January and November, 2.4% less than the same period a year earlier, it said.

Changi Airport passengers, flights rise

Singapore’s Changi Airport Group said passenger and flight traffic rose in September, while cargo traffic fell, the local press reported.

Almost 3.1 million passengers passed through the airport last month, 6% more than a year earlier, the second straight month of gains after nine months of declines, according to local press reports, citing the group.

The number of flights taking off and landing rose 5.8% to 20,115.

Cargo traffic fell 13% to 140,790 tons.
