Serbian Church “destroying Montenegro”

The Montenegrin parliament speaker has accused the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) of “destroying the state of Montenegro”. The SPC is making this endeavor by means of putting up a tin church on top of Mt. Rumija, near the town of Bar, according to Rajko Krivokapić.

The top Serbian Orthodox Church bishop in Montenegro says that the Montenegrin language was “made up”, and condemned those who said they spoke it. Metropolitan Amfilohije made the statements in Podgorica last night, during the ceremonies to mark the Julian calendar New Year.

Patriarch: Important to begin talks between churches

It would be good to launch talks between churches in 2013, Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) Patriarch Irinej stated on Saturday.

“It is good for church representatives to gather and launch a humane and friendly dialogue, while other issues between churches can be left for a later time,” Irinej said during signing of a contract on the construction of a complex commemorating the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great (306-337) in Niš.

The Church will return to
select U.S. cities to perform their three classic albums Untitled #23, Priest=Aura and Starfish in one
night.

The band, recently inducted into the Australian Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, will begin the night in the present,
covering the last decade with the critically acclaimed Untitled #23. Proceeding backwards into the ‘90s the
band will then perform perennial fan favourite, Priest=Aura (an album not supported by a tour when
originally released in the USA). The band will conclude the evening with a performance of the all-time classic album,
Starfish.

Reissues of the band’s early albums will also finally be available in the USA alongside contemporary releases, all on
the Second Motion Entertainment label. The reissues will come in luxurious digi-packs with rare photos and
exhaustive sleeve notes written by Marty Willson-Piper.

The defrocked SPC Bishop Artemije denied that he was planning to set up “a new Church on Kosovo and Metohija”. The newspaper Danas writes that Artemije pointed out the rumors were part of a “media lynch” against him, conducted for months.

Al Qaeda claims attack on Baghdad church

A church service in Baghdad has ended in bloodshed after Iraqi forces stormed the building and militants set off their suicide vests.

Bishop: Serbian Church could split
