The Serbian Foreign Ministry has advised the citizens not to travel to Tunisia due to security risks.

Tadić in New Year’s greetings to citizens
Serbian President Boris Tadić wished the Serbian citizens a happy New Year, adding that this had been another difficult year.

Citizens evacuated from flooded areas
A state of emergency has been declared in the towns of Ljubovija, Prijepolje and Loznica due to flooding caused by overflowing of the Drina and Lim Rivers.
Road Prijepolje-Podgorica is closed and therefore road traffic between Serbia and Montenegro is disrupted.
Western Balkans rife with pessimism
Citizens of the Western Balkans countries are still pessimistic, despite the fact that there is a general improvement compared to last year.
The reason for that is the difficult economic situation, shows the latest European Fund for the Balkans survey, conducted in cooperation with Gallup.

EU citizens in Serbia without passports
Citizens of EU member-states, as well as from Switzerland, Norway and Iceland, can enter Serbia as of Saturday with only their personal identification cards. The Serbian government passed a decision on May 28 regarding countries whose citizens can cross the border into Serbia without a passport, as long as they have a valid identification card.
EU citizens don’t need passports to enter Serbia
The government has decided that the citizens of EU countries, as well as Switzerland, Norway and Iceland, will no longer need passports to enter Serbia. This was announced by Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković on Friday in Belgrade.

Citizens seeking asylum in Sweden as well
After Belgium, Sweden is also warning that a large number of Serbian citizens have been seeking asylum in the country since the beginning of the year. Swedish ambassador to Serbia Krister Bringeus told B92 that in February alone, 300 demands were received for asylum from Serbian citizens who enter the country with biometric passports, adding that all these people will be returned to Serbia.
Patriarch apologizes to Muslim citizens
Serbian Patriarch Irinej apologized on Friday to the Muslim citizens for his recent statement in which he spoke of Islam in an imprudent manner. In a statement issued by his office, Patriarch Irinej pointed out that his actual position on Islam is based on the absolute appreciation of identity, dignity and integrity of Muslims as individuals, the Islamic community as a whole, and Islam as a great world religion.
