Noble confirms Brazil mills buy in $1.2b deal

Noble Group (NOBG.SI), Asia’s largest commodities trader, said on Monday it has signed a US$950 million ($1.2 billion) deal to purchase two sugar mills from Brazilian and ethanol group Cerradinho Holding.

The Singapore-listed firm told the bourse the two mills will increase Noble’s total annual sugarcane crushing capacity to 17.5 million tonnes, after a Brazilian newspaper reported of the takeover bid last week.

Chip Shot: Intel Confirms CognoVision Acquisition

Intel has acquired CognoVision Solutions Inc., a privately held software company based in Toronto, Canada. CognoVision processor-intensive video analytics software based computer vision algorithms for digital signs, many of which are increasingly being powered by Intel Core processors. The acquisition is part of Intel’s overall digital signage strategy, which also includes the recently announced Intel, Microsoft and NEC strategic relationship. Intel is not providing more detail at this time.

Singapore’s GLP confirms IPO price of $1.96 a share

Global Logistic Properties (GLP), a unit of Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC [GIC.UL], on Tuesday confirmed an initial public offering price of $1.96 a share and said its shares will start trading on Oct 18.

The information was contained in an updated prospectus filed on the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s OPERA website.

 
GLP is set to raise as much as $3 billion from the IPO.

Tiger confirms flight cancellations, shares fall

Shares of Singapore budget carrier Tiger Airways (TAHL.SI) fell as much as 3.9% in early trade on Monday after a local newspaper reported that the firm had cancelled about 40 flights over a four-day period.

Tiger, 49% owned by Singapore Airlines (SIAL.SI), confirmed in a statement that a number of cancellations occured last week as a result of the knock-on effects of two aircraft being grounded.
