Schools in Serbia continue strike

Two thirds of schools in Serbia will continue to strike on Monday by not working at all or cutting classes 15 minutes short. This comes in spite of the prime minister’s warning that the teachers who strike will not receive salaries.

U.S. to continue cooperation with Thaci

The U.S. will continue to cooperate with Kosovo PM Hashim Thaci despite the CoE report linking him to crimes, the U.S. Department of State has announced.

U.S. Department of State Philip Crowley has assessed that accusations of Thaci’s involvement in organ trafficking are “not going to change fundamentally U.S.-Kosovo relations”.

“Serbia should continue privatizations”

Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Vincent Degert said on Thursday that Serbia should continue privatizing state-owned companies.
Presenting the economic section of the European Commission report on Serbia’s progress in European integration, Degert said that it was good that Telekom Srbija would be sold and added that the Electric Power Industry of Serbia, Serbian Railways, air carrier Jat Airways and other state companies should also be privatized.

Auditors cast doubts on of Asian Micro’s ability to continue as going concern

Ernst & Young LLP, the independent auditors for Asian Micro Holdings, has cast doubts on the ability of the group and company to continue as going concerns in its report on the company’s financial statements for the financial year ended 30 June 2010.

Ernst & Young says the group and company incurred a net loss after taxation of $3,081,658 and $4,081,345 respectively for the financial year ended 30 June 2010, and as at that date, the company’s current liabilities exceeded current assets by $705,338.

STI +1.0%; Upside momentum may continue: OCBC

Singapore shares staging broadly on back of Wall Street’s overnight rally, pushing STI +1.0% at 3,192.47, says Dow Jones.

If 3,200 fails to hold as resistance, next resistance tipped at 3,214 (June 2 high).

KPMG LLP, the auditors of Centillion Environment & Recycling, has included an emphasis of matter in their report on the company’s consolidated financial statements for the financial year ended 30 June 2010.

During the year ended 30 June 2010, Centillion’s subsidiary, Metech Recycling, Inc., breached a covenant of a mortgage note by failing to comply with the debt service coverage ratio at all times.

Serbia, EU to continue dialogue

President Boris Tadić and EU Foreign Affairs Chief Catherine Ashton agreed that Serbia and the EU should continue their dialogue on the Kosovo resolution. Tadić and Ashton conferred Tuesday evening for almost two hours behind closed doors, coordinating stands on Serbia’s resolution on Kosovo, which it has submitted to the UN General Assembly.
