Lum Chang awarded main contract to build Esparina Residences EC at Sengkang for $119.4m

Lum Chang Holdings says its unit Lum Chang Building Contractors has been awarded the main contract6 by FCL Compassvale for the design, construction and maintenance of Esparina Residences, an executive housing development at Sengkang for $119.4 million.

The works comprise the building of nine blocks of 18-storey apartments and a 4-storey carpark with communal facilities. The 19,000 sq-m site is located along Compassvale Bow near Buangkok MRT Station.

Construction works will begin in December and is estimated to take 32 months to complete.

Lum Chang says the latest award brings the total balue of contracts still in progress to $736.8 million.

ST Electronics wins $29m contract in smart meter market

ST Engineering’s electronics arm, ST Electronics, today announced that its subsidiary, Telematics Wireless, has been awarded a contract worth US$21.5million ($29 million) by Arad Technologies to supply Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) radio transceivers for Arad’s Dialog 3G AMR solutions.

The supply cooperation agreement between Arad and Telematics Wireless takes effect immediately and extends to 2015. Telematics Wireless is a subsidiary of ST Electronics (Info-Comm Systems).

TSH Corp. unit awarded $11.7m deal to dispose expired ammo from Taiwan defense ministry

TSH Corporation says wholly owned subsidiary, Explomo Technical Services, has been awarded a contract to dispose expired ammunitions from the Ministry of National Defense of Taiwan. The value of the contract is US$8.72 million ($11.7 million) and it is scheduled to be completed by 2011.

Tiong Seng Holdings says Samsung-Tiong Seng JV, a 55:45 joint venture between its wholly-owned subsidiary, Tiong Seng Contractors, and Samsung C&T Corporation, has been awarded a $270 million contract by Singapore HealthPartners for the development of hospital, hotel and medical clinics at Race Course Road.

Yongnam wins $25m MRT Downtown Line 2 contract

Yongnam Holdings, the structural steel contractor and specialist civil engineering solutions provider, has been awarded its first contract for the MRT Downtown Line 2 (DTL 2) valued at $25 million.

The 16.6km long Downtown Line 2 comprises of one depot and 12 stations including three interchange stations. DTL 2 will link to the North-East Line, the North-South Line and the Circle line.

Yongnam says the contract comprises the constructiion of a Cut and Cover Tunnel and the Tan Kah Kee station.

SMX December gold contract starts trading

The Singapore Mercantile Exchange (SMX) started trading its December gold futures contract today.

SMX CEO Thomas McMahon said gold was the first product to trade on the exchange, which also launched Tuesday a prompt West Texas Intermediate crude contract, a euro-denominated Brent crude contract and a euro-US dollar futures contract.

OKP wins $1.1m contract for Jurong Island reclamation works

OKP Holdings, the infrastructure and civil engineering firm, today announced that it has won a $1.1 million contract for land reclamation works on Jurong Island.

OKP says the contract was awarded to its wholly-owned subsidiary, Or Kim Peow Contractors. Work on the foreshore reclamation project has already begun and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

KLW wins $4.2m contract to supply doors to Abu Dhabi

Door manufacturer KLW Holdings says it has secured an order worth US$3.1 million ($4.2 million) from one of UK’s leading construction companies to supply doors to the Al Muneera development in Abu Dhabi. This mixed-used development comprises eight multi-storey residential buildings; 11 villas; 142 town houses; and two retail areas with sub-basements.

Marco Polo Marine secures $21m coal shipment contract

Marco Polo Marine, theintegrated marine logistic group, says wholly-owned subsidiary, MP Shipping Co Pte Ltd (MPS), has secured a 2-year coal shipment contract worth about US$15.5 million ($21 million).

The coal shipment contract is secured with an Indonesia coal miner and will commence from September 2010. Under the contract, the group will undertake the shipment of coal from Sumatra in Indonesia to West Malaysia over a period of 2 years.

ST Engineering’s electronics arm, ST Electronics, announced that its subsidiary, Telematics Wireless, has been awarded a contract worth US$8 million (about $10.9 million) and an option worth US$2 million by Ituran Location and Control to provide “Smart” vehicle and asset tracking devices for the recovery of stolen vehicles and goods. Keppel Shipyard secures $50m contract to modify FPSO OSX-1

Keppel Shipyard says it has secured a $50 million contract for the modification of the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel OSX-1.

The FPSO OSX-1 is owned by OSX 1 Leasing B.V., a subsidiary of OSX Brasil S/A.

Commencing in the third quarter of 2010, Keppel Shipyard’s scope of work includes procurement, detailed engineering and the modification of the topside process modules.

ASL Marine unit wins $55m contract to build 30 vessels

ASL Marine Holdings says its wholly-owned subsidiary, ASL Shipyard Pte Ltd, has secured new shipbuilding contracts worth a total of $55 million for 30 vessels, comprising two Azimuth Stern Drive Tugs, one pipe-lay barge and 27 cargo barges.

The two of Azimuth Stern Drive Tugs are scheduled for completion by the first quarter of 2012. The barges are scheduled for progressive deliveries by the first quarter of 2011.

Otto Marine says subsidiary, Singapore-based Reflect Geophysical, has entered into a contract valued at least US$2.7 million ($3.7 million) in New Zealand with Octanex NZ to carry put a 270 sq km 3D seismic data acquisition in the Taranaki Basin area of New Zealand.

Mermaid Maritime Public Company says subsidiary MTR‐1 has secured a contract from a client operating in the Middle East for accommodation barge support services using the MTR‐1. The contract is expected to generate US$3.2 million ($4.4 million) in revenue. MTR‐1 is expected to start work in the Middle East in early August for at least 160 days.
