Chasen Holdings bags China relocation contracts worth $11.4m

Chasen Holdings, the relocation specialist for sophisticated machinery and equipment, says its Shanghai unit has successfully clinched two relocation projects in China. The projects, which involve the relocation of TFT LCD plants, have a combined value of RMB58.45 million ($11.37 million).

The first project, worth RMB8.45 million, involves the turnkey relocation of a 3rd-generation LCD factory from Kunshan in Jiangsu to Changsha in Hunan. Services rendered by Chasen Hi-Tech will include packing and moving out from the Kunshan plant, transporting the equipment to and moving them into the Changsha plant. The project will be conducted from January to March 2011.

ST Engineering +0.6% on 4Q contracts worth $320m

ST Engineering (S63.SG) is up 0.6% at $3.31 after it says its aerospace arm clinched around $320 million worth of new contracts in 4Q.

The company says the contracts, which range from 3-12 months in duration, include new components and engine maintenance contracts, as well as airframe contracts involving heavy maintenance checks, passenger-to-freighter and passenger-to-passenger/cargo conversions and interior refurbishments.

Singapore Technology Engineering, which makes arms and repairs aircraft, said its aerospace business received maintenance orders worth $320 million in the fourth quarter of last year.

SembMarine wins contracts worth $215m

Sembcorp Marine says subsidiary Sembawang Shipyard has secured a newbuilding and three major upgrading contracts totalling $215 million.

The newbuild contract worth $123 million was awarded by Teekay Shipping (Australia) Pty Ltd for the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) of a dynamically positioned blue water research vessel for Australia. The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australia’s national science agency.

Yangzijiang signed $536m of Contracts in Sept.-Dec.

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Holdings said it signed 15 shipbuilding contracts with a total value of US$415.3 million ($536 million) in the September-December period. Deliveries are set for 2011 to 2013.

CSE Global wins 2 contracts totalling $14.2m in Papua New Guinea and West Africa

CSE Global (CSE) says fully-owned subsidiaries Transtel Engineering and W-Industries have recently won two contracts worth a total of US$11 million ($14.2 million) in Papua New Guinea and West Africa.

The first contract is awarded by a major Japanese-based EPC contractor for the turnkey development of a telecommunication network infrastructure for the Papua New Guinea LNG plant. The second contract is awarded by a US-based oil company for electrical and control systems for an oil field in West Africa.

Cosco wins contracts worth over US$100m

Singapore-listed Cosco Corp (COSC.SI) said on Thursday its 51% owned subsidiary Cosco (Zhoushan) Shipyard has secured contracts valued over US$100 million ($129 million) to build four bulk carriers of 57,000 dead-weight tonnes each. The bulk carriers are scheduled for deliveries from August 2012 to March 2013.

Keppel secures $240m worth of contracts

Keppel Corp (KPLM.SI), the world’s biggest rig maker, said on Monday its offshore & marine units have won contracts worth $240 million worth for conversion and specialised shipbuilding. The contracts include upgrading of a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel, the conversion of a livestock carrier, as well as the building of a diving support vessel.

R H Energy awarded $11.4m in contracts to design plant upgrades

Mainboard-listed R H Energy says it has won contracts worth US$8.7 million ($11.4 million), to provide process engineering design, technical services and commissioning for the upgrading of a caprolactum plant with an annual production capacity of 200,000 tonnes and a special epoxy plant with an annual production capacity of 50,000 tonnes for the Sinopec group companies.

Ezra buys 4 PSVs for $168m; wins $66m in new charter contracts

Ezra Holdings, the integrated support and marine services provider in the offshore oil & gas (O&G) sector, will add four high-end multi-purpose platform supply vessels (PSVs) to its fleet in the light of the positive outlook for the sector. The investment of approximately US$130 million ($168 million) underlines its commitment to strengthening the capabilities of its core businesses and driving its next growth phase.

Meanwhile, Ezra has also announced that EMAS Offshore, the group’s operating entity for offshore support services, has secured letters of intent and/or letters of award for US$51 million worth of new contracts which will charter five anchor, handling, towing and supply (AHTS) vessels and a PSV to oil majors, national as well as independent oil companies, for operations in Asia and Australia. In aggregate, the average period for the new charters will exceed two years.

STX OSV (MS7.SG) +4.4% at $0.83 in active trade on NOK1.3 billion ($280.7 million) boost to orderbook as shipbuilder secures contracts to build 4 platform supply vessels for repeat customer Farstad Shipping, according to Dow Jones.

Stock likely to close up for first time in 3 sessions, but below $0.88 intraday high reached on listing last Friday. Deals bring total value of contracts clinched this year to about US$2 billion, coincide with company’s plans to boost production capacity. $131.6 million net proceeds raised from IPO will be used to build second shipyard in Brazil, expand yard capacities in Norway, Vietnam and Romania, fund potential acquisitions.

Latest projects will be built in Norway, Vietnam, with vessels scheduled for delivery in 2012-2013.

LME to launch joint SGX metal contracts in Feb

The London Metal Exchange (LME) said on Thursday, that it will launch its joint futures contracts on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) on Feb. 15, 2011.

The LME and SGX will launch futures contracts in aluminium, copper and zinc, it said in a statement.

SGX unit and London Metal Exchange to jointly launch selected metals futures contracts

Singapore Exchange says wholly-owned subsidiary Singapore Exchange Derivatives Trading (SGX-DT) and The London Metal Exchange (LME) have signed a joint venture agreement to jointly launch selected metals futures contracts in Asia.

The purpose of the partnership is to jointly design, develop and launch certain cash-settled mini monthly metals futures contracts. Under the terms and conditions of the agreement, SGX-DT and LME will jointly be responsible for, among other things, the design and development of the contract specifications for, as well as the promotion and marketing of, the LME-SGX Metals Futures Contracts.

Subject to obtaining the relevant regulatory approvals, the LME-SGX Metals Futures Contracts will be traded on SGX-DT and cleared through Singapore Exchange Derivatives Clearing.

ST Engineering wins $370m airframe contracts in Q3

Singapore Technologies Engineering (STEG.SI) said on Monday its aerospace arm secured about $370 million worth of new airframe heavy maintenance contracts in the third quarter of 2010.

Cosco Corporation secures contracts to build 3 bulk carriers for $112m

Cosco Corporation (Singapore) says Cosco (Dalian) Shipyard, the subsidiary of the company’s 51% owned subsidiary, Cosco Shipyard Group, has secured contracts valued over US$87 million ($112 million) to build three bulk carriers of 57,000 dwt each. The contracts are effective following receipt of the initial deposits from the Asian ship owner.

The bulk carriers which will be built at Cosco (Dalian) shipyards are scheduled for deliveries from May 2012 to March 2013.

Meanwhile, Cosco says it has received initial deposits for two out of the 15 shipbuilding contracts announced made by the company on June 15.

CSE Global unit wins 2 contracts totalling $55m

CSE Global today announced that Transtel Engineering, its fully-owned subsidiary, has recently won two contracts worth a total of $55 million in the Middle East and Russia.

The first contract is awarded by a major Korean-based EPC contractor for the turnkey development of a telecommunication network infrastructure for an onshore/offshore gas field development in the Persian Gulf.

CSC’s order book hits $210m with contracts including Changi Motorsports Hub, Orchard Emerald …

Foundation and geotechnical engineering specialist, CSC Holdings, says it has secured contracts in excess of $70 million recently.

Among these were contracts for Changi Motorsports Hub and the redevelopment of the old Orchard Emerald Shopping Centre worth $60 million.

Located along Aviation Park Road and sitting on 41-hectares of prime seafront land, the Changi Motorsports Hub will be developed into Asia’s premier motorsports and entertainment destination, and will feature Singapore’s very first permanent 4km racetrack and a 1.2km karting track along the Changi coastline.
