PACE to debate three more resolutions
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is today in Strasbourg debating three more resolutions.
The PACE on Tuesday adopted Council of Europe (CoE) Rapporteur Dick Marty’s report on human organ trafficking in Kosovo, which calls for an international investigation.

Council of Europe (CoE) rapporteur Dick Marty has been invited to address the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee. Tanjug news agency previously reported that it had learned unofficially that EP MPs invited Marty to testify on his report regarding the Kosovo organ trafficking case.
Anti-Corruption Council writes to president
The Anti-Corruption Council sent on Tuesday a letter to Serbian President Boris Tadić specifying cases of corruption faced by foreign investors in Serbia.
The council asked for a meeting with Tadić to discuss the problem.
Inquiry focuses on Hungary’s new media law
Hungary’s newly-instituted media council (NMHH) launched an inquiry into Tilos radio station in September, according to a letter from the council.
The inquiry relates to the station’s broadcast of two songs by American rapper Ice-T in its 1730h program. According to the letter from the NMHH, the songs’ lyrics were objectionable, and violated sections 5/B. § (3) and 5/C § (2) of the Regulations on Radio and Television Broadcasting.
Council of Europe: Witnesses in Kosovo risk their lives
A Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) rapporteur has submitted his report on witness protection in war crimes trials for former Yugoslavia.
The document should be adopted by the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) on January 26.

Serbia: CoE should adopt recommendations
Serbia will request the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) to adopt recommendations regarding Dick Marty’s report, says Rasim Ljajić.
Ljajić, head of the National Council for Cooperation with the Hague Tribunal, told B92 that those recommendations would oblige the EU ministers to help the investigation.
Minister on new Bosniak council vote
Human and Minority Rights Minister Svetozar Čiplić will hold consultations and decide to call new elections for the Bosniak National Council. His ministry said in Belgrade on Thursday that six months after the Central Election Commission declared final results, the Bosniak council was yet to be set up.

Anti-corruption body on Telekom sale
The Anti-Corruption Council addressed on Wednesday a letter to Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković regarding the Telekom Srbija sale.
In it, the council proposed that the privatization of the state-owned telecommunications company be stopped if detailed analysis proves that the sale is being done for political or some other reasons rather than because of valid economic needs.

The Council for National Security has requested from all competent authorities to continue to decisively combat organized crime and extremist organizations.
The announcement states that the security situation in the country after the latest outbreak of violence in Belgrade and Genoa has been discussed.
Karzai reaches out to Taliban
Afghan President Hamid Karzai used the anniversary of the start of the war in Afghanistan to open the inaugural session of a peace council. VOA reports that the council was appointed to help reconcile with the Taliban and other militant groups.

EP official in Belgrade over Bosniak Council
European Parliament (EP) Special Envoy for the Balkans Jelko Kacin has announced that he will visit Belgrade on October 3.
He also said Serbia has to resolve the issue of the forming of the Bosniak national council by that date.

Germany, together with other global players like Japan, India and Brazil, has long harbored a desire for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council.
German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle intends to drive home that message in an address to the General Assembly on Saturday.
