Montenegro has started making payments to Croatians over the 1991 war damages, Podgorica-based daily Vijesti writes. The Montenegrin government reached an out-of-court settlement with a resident of Dubrovnik, Croatia, and paid them EUR 30,000 for a small boat that was stolen from nearby Cavtat in 1991.

Extradition agreements important for region
Justice Minister Snežana Malović say the extradition agreement signed with Croatia is of great importance for the regional fight against organized crime. The signing of such agreements with Montenegro, Macedonia and the United States of America is being planned, she added.

Operation Storm marked In Croatia
Croatia on Thursday marked the 15th anniversary of Operation Storm during which the country regained control over the ethnic Serb areas of the country. Croatian President Ivo Josipović said at the main celebration in Knin that Operation Storm had been carried out according to all rules of war, with respect for international conventions and that recognition ought to be given to all those who planned and participated in the operation.
Commemoration of Serb exodus from Croatia
Fifteen years since the start of the Croatian military operation that led to the exodus of over 200,000 ethic Serbs is being commemorated today. A service would be held in memory of the victims in St. Marko’s Church in Belgrade, which would be attended by President Boris Tadić.

Zagreb expects to sign Accession Treaty in 2011
Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said that Zagreb’s goal is to sign the Accession Treaty with the EU by the spring of 2011. At a regular meeting with members of the negotiating team for Croatia’s EU accession, Kosor said that she expects a positive evaluation from the European Commission.

Croatia: Serb tourists attacked
Three Serbs who were spending their vacation in Croatia’s seaside resort of Zadar were attacked on Thursday. Reports said that a 40-year-old man and his two teenage sons were targeted as the dialect they spoke identified them as Serbs.

“Croatia will not withdraw lawsuit”
Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said Tuesday that the Croatian government has not yet considered withdrawal of the the genocide charges against Serbia.
The lawsuit was filed at the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Serbia has its own genocide countersuit against Croatia.

Sentence reduced for Croatian war criminal
The Municipal Court in Rijeka, Croatia, has reduced Mirko Norac’s two prison terms into a single sentence that should keep him in jail for 15 years. The former Croatian general was found guilty of committing war crimes against Serb civilians in Croatia’s Gospić and MedaÄki Pocket regions, during the war in that country in the early 1990′s.
War crimes lists made public
Serbian and Croatian citizens will be able to check with their respective ministries of justice whether they were investigated for war crimes, B92 has learned.
Serbia and Croatia have formed a mixed commission to deal with the issue of war crimes, which will enable people to see a list of those indicted, convicted, or investigated in this context.
Serbia in Davis Cup semifinals
Serbian national tennis team moved on to the Davis Cup semifinals after beating Croatia by 3:1 in the quarterfinals in Split on Sunday.
Novak Äoković won the deciding point for the Serbian team, beating Croatia’s best ranked Marin ÄŒilić (6:3, 6:3, 6:2).
