“Croatia, Serbia guarantors of Bosnia’s stability”

Croatian President Ivo Josipović Serbia has stated that Croatia are firmly committed to the future in the European Union. Thus they are guarantors of safety and stability as regards Bosnia-Herzegovina, he said, according to media reports.

Austrian court turns down Sanader appeal

The High Regional Court in the Austrian city of Linz has turned down the appeal against a previous decision to keep Ivo Sander in jail. This means that the former Croatian prime minister and leader of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) will have to remain in prison until March 18.

Hand grenade sent to Croatian embassy

The Croatian Foreign Ministry said a package was delivered to the country’s embassy in Berlin containing an M75 hand grenade “with fuse and safety lever”. The package arrived on Monday along with a threatening letter, reports Beta news agency.

Serbian, Croatian justice ministers meet

Serbian Justice Minister Snežana Malović and her Croatian counterpart Dražen Bošnjaković met on Wednesday in Zagreb.

They agreed that all problems should be resolved jointly in both countries’ interest.

Croat officials react to “war crimes list”

Croatian Justice Minister Dražen Bošnjaković said that he had a phone conversation with his Serbian Justice Minister Snežana Malović. It came in order to determine if there is another list of Croatian war veterans wanted for war crimes, in addition to the one Serbia handed over earlier.

Croatia lifts visas for Albanians

The Croatian government has decided to abolish visas for the citizens of Albania as of next year, ATA news agency reported.

As of January 1, 2011, the citizens of Albania will no longer require visas when crossing Croatian borders or staying in the country up to 90 days.

Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor on Monday dismissed four ministers from her cabinet, said reports from Zagreb. They include ministers of defense, finance, environment and culture.

The Austrian State Prosecution should once again question former Croatian PM Ivo Sanader today.

Sanader was arrested in Austria on December 10 on the Croatian judiciary’s international arrest warrant.

Croat president: I did apologize

Croatian President Ivo Josipović has stated that he did apologize for the Serb victims in Paulin Dvor near Osijek and that some media were “twisting the facts”.

Leader of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia (HDZ BiH) Dragan Čović said that this country could only survive as a federal state. He said he supported the idea of a Croatian entity and the city of Mostar as its capital.

Convicted war criminal arrested

Croatian politician and former high ranking army officer Branimir Glavaš was arrested in Bosnia-Herzegovina on Tuesday.

GlavaÅ¡ holds both Croatian and Bosnian citizenships, and was found guilty and sentenced to eight years in prison in Zagreb for 1991 war crimes committed against Croatia’s ethnic Serb civilians.
