Moya Dayen reaches settlement plan with debtors

Moya Dayen says it has entered into a settlement deed for the outstanding debt of US$975,000 owed by PT ATPK Resources Tbk. and PT Modal Investasi Mineral.

ATPK and MIM will repay the debt in instalments. If the companies fail to pay any of the instalments, they will have to pay Moya Dayen interest.

Moya Dayen also has the option to request that part or all of the outstanding debt be converted into ATPK shares.

SIAS Research in a July 1 research report says: “Moya Dayen Ltd designs and builds both water treatment and water desalination systems. The company was previously plagued with flawed internal controls and serious financial mismanagement. However, the entry of Moya Holding helps to inject new life into the entity by desalinating the “bad salt”.

Moya Dayen wins second contract from Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority worth $51m

Catalist-listed Moya Dayen has been awarded a contract worth US$36.46 million ($50.8 million) by Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority (PPWSA) in Cambodia for Part B of Phase 1 of the Niroth Water Production Facilities Project.

Under the deal, Moya Dayen will build the Niroth Water Production Facilities — Phase I, which comprises two contracts — Part A and Part B.

Moya Dayen wins $19m deal from Phnom Pehn water supply authority

Moya Dayen has signed a US$13.38 million ($18.8 million) contract with Phnom Penh Water Supply Authority (PPWSA) in Cambodia to build of an 25 metres high intake tower located in the Mekong River, a raw water pumping station with a capacity 135 million litres per day and a raw water transmission main connecting the station to the water treatment plant site as well as other ancillary works. The contract is scheduled to start in June 2010 and is expected to take 30 months to complete.

Singapore’s benchmark Straits Times Index (.FTSTI) yesterday fell 0.18% to 2,913.94 points. Last night, The Dow Jones industrial average (.DJI) rose 0.42% to 10,779.17 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index (.IXIC) finished 0.09% higher to end at 2,391.28 points. Here are some stocks and factors to watch:

Sembcorp Marine (SCMN.SI) , the world’s second-largest offshore oil rig maker, said it has secured a $550 million contract from ConocoPhillips (COP.N) to build accommodation for the North Sea’s Ekofisk field.

Dayen wins $6.6m contract to build industrial water pumping station at Jurong Water Reclamation …

Catalist-listed Dayen Environmental has been awarded a $6.55 million contract by The Public Utilities Board of Singapore (PUB) to undertake the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works to construct a pumping station with a capacity of 68,000 cubic metres per day (equivalent to 15 million gallons per day) within Jurong Water Reclamation Plant to deliver additional industrial water to Jurong Island.

Dayen says former deputy chairman John Lee in CAD probe

Dayen Environmental says the group’s former deputy chairman and executive director John Lee is currently under investigations by the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) under the Securities and Futures Act.

Lee has also informed the company that a police bail of $30,000 has been posted.

Dayen Environmental ordered to assist CAD in its investigations

Dayen Environmental says the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) has ordered the group today to assist it with its investigations into certain affairs of the group under the Securities and Futures Act.

Dayen says CAD has not informed the group of the nature of their investigations but has asked the group to produce information and documents relating to:

  • the mining rights agreement entered into between the Group and PT Modal Investasi Mineral for the exploitation and marketing rights of 5 million metric tonnes of coal in Dec 2007
  • the acquisition of shares of PT ATPK Resources TBK by the group in Dec 2007
  • the coal sales agreement entered into between the group and PT Repindo Jagad Raya for the purchase of coal in June 2008 and
  • certain employees and ex-employees of the group.

Singapore water firm Dayen sees profit in 2010: Update

Singapore’s Dayen Environmental (DYEN.SI) expects to be profitable in 2010, after posting losses for the past four years, and is aiming to win $300 million of water contracts in Singapore and the region this year. 
 
CEO Alan Yau said in an interview the firm has bid for over S$300 million ($216 million) of contracts and is also studying a $300-$500 million contract in China, as it concentrates on its core business of engineering and servicing water and waste water plants.

Dayen wins ultra-filtration project in Qatar

Water and wastewater treatment specialist Dayen Environmental says it has signed a new contract with Waagner Biro Qatar W.L.L. for a new ultra-filtration project in Qatar.

The contract, which is valued at US$583,000 ($814,626), will entail the design, supply, installation and commissioning of an ultra-filtration system for a treated sewage effluent polishing plant for Waagner Biro.

Dayen Environmental places out shares and options to Moya Holding for $20m cash

Catalist-listed Dayen Environmental says it has concluded a share placement to Moya Holding Company BSC for $20 million in cash, in return for shares and share options representing a 51% interest in the enlarged capital of Dayen.

Moya is a Middle East water treatment and services company headquartered in Manama, the Kingdom of Bahrain, with operations based in Saudi Arabia and other key Middle East markets.

Dayen bags first Bahrain contract worth $2.15m

Dayen Environmental, the wastewater treatment specialist, says it has entered into a new contract with Habib Ali Awachi & Sons Group for a new sewage treatment plant in Bahrain.

Under the contract, Dayen will supply and supervise the installation and commissioning of a 1,000 cubic metres/day municipal sewage treatment plant system using Membrane Bioreactor technology for Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO), a wholly-owned company of the Government of Bahrain engaged in the production and refining of crude oil.

Dayen Environmental posts lost of $5.53m for FY09

Dayen Environmental says it recorded a revenue of $35.5 million and loss attributable to shareholders of $5.53 million for the financial year ended 30 September 2009.

The group says revenue for the year ended Sept 30 2009 increased by 20% from $29.53 million for the financial year ended Sept 30 2008 as compared to $35.5 million for the year ended Sept 30 2009. The increase was due to several key projects in Johor Bahru (Malaysia), Cambodia and Singapore being significantly completed for the financial year ended Sept 30 2009.
