Bayan Resources signs coal supply deal with Tuas power unit

PT Bayan Resources signed on Jan. 28 an agreement with a unit of Singapore’s Tuas Power to supply the utility with 13.36 million metric tons of coal for 15 years starting 2012, the Indonesian coal producer said in a statement to the stock exchange today.

AMB/ProLogis deal would be no merger of equals

US warehouse and distribution center owner ProLogis (PLD.N) is substantially larger than rival AMB Property Corp (AMB.N) both in terms of square footage and market value.

Yet if the two companies’ recently announced talks on a “merger of equals” pan out, AMB Property is likely to be the real buyer and ProLogis the target, investors and Wall Street analysts said.

Controversial deal with Slovenians approved

The Serbian government approved at a telephone session on Thursday afternoon a deal signed between MlaÄ‘an Dinkić and Slovenian company Gorenje. With it, the company’s will make an investment in Zaječar (eastern Serbia), and receive EUR 10,000 for each person they employ, according to a plan of the Ministry of Economy, headed by Dinkić.

Boustead units secure $25m deal to design, build demineralisation plant for Tuas Power

Boustead Singapore says wholly-owned subsidiary, Boustead Salcon Water Solutions, the water and wastewater engineering specialist, has won a $25 million contract to design, engineer and construct a demineralisation plant at the Tembusu multi-utilities complex owned by Tuas Power.

Boustead Salcon will partner Boustead Projects, the specialist in industrial real-estate solutions to deliver the Demin plant.

Indo-Sino wins Bangladesh rice deal at US$459.22 per tonne

Singapore-based Indo-Sino Trade Limited has secured a tender to supply 50,000 tonnes of white rice to Bangladesh at US$459.22 ($593.22) a tonne, including C&F liner out, a food official said on Monday. 
 
The state grains importer issued the tender late last month as part of efforts to ensure food security for the country’s more than 150 million people in the wake of rising global food prices.
 
Indo-Sino was the lowest bidder in the tender that opened on Jan. 10, and the rice is to be shipped in 30 days after signing the deal, which will take place this week.
