Serbian delegation continues Brussels visit

The Serbian delegation visiting Brussels, headed by Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković, will confer with EU Commissioner for Justice Viviane Reding. On Monday, Cvetković presented the answers to the EC questionnaire to the EU Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fule.

UN to provide aid to earthquake-hit town

Representatives of the UN Delegation to Serbia have promised to provide help to Kraljevo which was hit by a strong earthquake on November 3.

The UN Delegation to Serbia, consisting of UN Resident Coordinator in Serbia William Infante, representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO), UN Development Program and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), visited Kraljevo, central Serbia, on Friday.

Danish parliamentary delegation in Belgrade

President of the Danish parliament Thor Pedersen said in Belgrade on Monday that Denmark fully supports Serbia’s efforts to become a member of the EU. Addressing journalists at the Serbian National Assembly building, after the signing of the Agreement on inter-parliamentary cooperation between Serbia and Denmark, Pedersen said that he is satisfied with the progress Serbia has made on its EU pathway, of which his counterpart Slavica Đukić-Dejanović had informed him.

Delegation to attend NATO conference

A Serbian parliament delegation will attend a conference organized by the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Skopje, Macedonia, October 19-21. One of the topics of the conference will be the situation in Kosovo, member of the parliamentary committee for defense and security Konstantin Samofalov said Tuesday.

U.S. military delegation visits Serbia

Parliamentary Defense and Security Committee Chairman DuÅ¡an Bajatović met with a delegation of the U.S. National Guard. He said that Serbia has to cooperate with the U.S., adding that the two countries’ relations should focus on the future regardless of issues burdening them at the moment.

Serbia-IMF on unfreezing of salaries

The Serbian delegation and a delegation of the IMF will today reached final agreement on the unfreezing of public sector wages. Salaries and pensions will go up in January 2011 and not as it was previously stated in April 2011, Economy Minister Mlađan Dinkić said.
