“Serbia needs custom restitution model”

Deputy PM Božidar Đelić stated on Wednesday that Serbia needs a custom made restitution model characterized by modesty, particularly in its financial aspect.
“The injustice must be corrected. On the other hand, one must make sure that the indemnification for the injustice committed several decades ago will not jeopardize the future of the nation,” Đelić told the journalists in Belgrade.

Anti-Corruption Agency in case against deputy PM

The Serbian Anti-Corruption Agency filed a request on Tuesday for initiating infringement proceedings against Deputy Prime Minister Božidar Đelić. This came after Đelić failed to transfer management rights over his company within the set deadlines.

Albanian deputy PM resigns

Albanian Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister Ilir Meta resigned today amid corruption accusations.

Meta resigned after Top-Channel TV aired a videotape which shows him asking former Economy Minister Dritan Prifti to intervene over a hydropower plant concession tender.

Prosecution has launched an investigation against Albanian Deputy PM Ilir Meta based on a video which shows him rigging hydropower plant concession tender.

He will be charged with accepting bribes and abuse of office, the prosecution announced yesterday. Meta has decided to renounce his immunity.

Kosovo daily criticizes Serbian deputy PM

Priština-based daily Koha Ditore criticized Serbian Deputy PM Božidar Đelić over his statement about Serbia’s fight for Kosovo during his visit to Prizren.

Đelić visited Prizren on Christmas and spoke about Serbia’s “fight” for Kosovo and said that Belgrade would not renounce Kosovo.

Deputy PM travels to Kosovo for Christmas

Deputy PM Božidar Đelić will spend Christmas on Friday visiting several locations in Kosovo, his cabinet announced today in Belgrade. “This is an opportunity to wish peace and happiness to all Serbian citizens of Orthodox and other religions,” Đelić told Tanjug, adding that he will visit Kosovska Mitrovica, the Serbian Orthodox monastery of Dečani, and the town of Prizren.

Brother of Montenegrin deputy PM remanded in custody

Montenegrin Deputy Special Prosecutor for Organized Crime Lidija Vukčević has remanded all arrestees in a Friday police action in Budva in a 48-hour custody.

In the early morning hours Friday, by order of the Supreme State Prosecutor’s Office, the police arrested ten persons, including Budva Municipal President Rajko Kuljača and Deputy Municipal President Dragan Marović, brother of outgoing Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister Svetozar Marović.
