OUE’s 3Q net profit soars to $127.1m

Mainboard-listed Overseas Union Enterprise says net profit surged 16 times to $127.1 million for the three months ended 30 Sept 2010 (3Q2010), up from $7.5 million in the corresponding period last year (3Q 2009).

The robust performance came on the back of a 52.9% rise in the group 3Q 2010 revenue to $51.2 million, driven by improved contributions from the Hospitality division and Retail division, Mandarin Gallery.

HP’s Imaging and Printing Group (IPG) is a $29 billion annual revenue business with margins in the 16 to 17 percent area that expects to grow 3 to 4 percent in 2011. – Hewlett-Packard’s top printing and imaging executive told analysts Sept. 28

SBI Offshore raises $3.2m to fund expansion of contract engineering division

SBI Offshore Limited says it placed out 11 million new shares at 29 cents each to raise net proceeds of $3.17 million on May 21.Part of the placement proceeds will be used to expand its facility in its Jiangyin facility in Jiangsu province.

SBI Offshore says the new shares were placed to corporate and high net worth investors, enlarging the group’s share capital base to 121.7 million ordinary shares from 110.7 million.

Microsoft Reports Strong Windows 7 Sales, Revenue Growth

Microsoft reported an uptick in revenues during its third-quarter earnings call on April 22, with its Windows division buoyed by strong sales of the Windows 7 operating system. Year-over-year revenue also climbed for its Server and Tools, Online Services Division, and Entertainment and Devices Division. Although Microsofts business division revenues were slightly down year-over-year, Microsoft executives indicated that they were seeing the beginnings of increased business spending in areas such as desktops and cloud-computing services.

Siemens Plans 4,200 Layoffs from IT Division

Reportedly preparing to spin off its IT division in the fall of 2010, tech giant Siemens is downsizing 2,000 jobs in Germany and plans to eliminate another 2,200 technology jobs globally by 2011.

Midas Holdings posts 15% rise in FY09 net profit to $37.5m

Midas Holdings, the manufacturer of aluminium alloy extrusion products for China’s railway sector, announced a 14.9% rise in net profit to $37.5 million for the financial year ended December 31, 2009 (FY2009).

Revenue from continuing operations, namely the Aluminium Alloy Division and the Polyethylene Pipe Division, increased 8.6% to $150 million for the year. The group had ceased the trading operations of its Agency & Procurement Division in March 2009 to focus on its core business.

HLH Group posts net loss of $2.9m in 1H

Mainboard-listed HLH Group, agri-business owner and property developer, reported a 50.8% drop in turnover to $5.5 million and a net loss of $2.9 million in its latest 1H2009 results.
