“Government spreading false optimism”

The current Serbian government has taken to “spreading false optimism”, says the opposition Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS). Instead of tackling real economic problems, the cabinet of Prime Minister Mirko Cvetković has been diverting attention from them, DSS Vice-President Nenad Popović told a news conference in Belgrade on Monday.

SNS, DSS can’t have broader cooperation

The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) and the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) believe that there is no need for attacks, SNS leader Tomislav Nikolić says.

He told B92 that in a talk with DSS leader Vojislav Koštunica on Friday, he insisted that “there should not be conflicts among the opposition, even when there is disagreement.”

Opposition parties argue over Constitution

The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) says it doubts the motives behind theSerb Progressive (SNS) initiative to change the Constitution.
The SNS said it pushed for a reduce to the size of parliament, but DSS believes it also aims to change the preamble which states that Kosovo is an integral part of Serbia.

DSS: Kosovo elections could be rigged

Representatives of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) urged Kosovo Serbs on Friday to refrain from voting in the early parliamentary elections on December 12.

They warned that there could be manipulation in reporting Serb turnout.

SNS decides against coalition with DSS

DSS: Govt. has betrayed Serbia

Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) official Borko Ilić said that the government has betrayed Serbia by submitting the modified Kosovo resolution to the UN. “For the first time in its history, Serbia has willingly surrendered a part of its territory and the defeat we suffered in the UN by amending an already weak resolution marks the culmination of the government’s poor policy on Kosovo,” he told reporters at the DSS offices in Novi Sad.

DSS passes threshold in revote

The only change in the results of the municipal elections in Bor after a revote is that the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) was able to pass the census.
According to existing statistics, of the 3,052 registered voters in the repeated elections at two polling stations on Sunday, 1,449 cast their ballots.
