Rokko posts 142% rise in full-year earnings to $4.3m

Rokko Holdings reported a 44.3% increase in revenue to $42.6 million and a 142% surge in earnings to $4.3 million for the year ended Dec 31, 2010 on pent-up demand for semiconductor equipment. A final dividend of 0.5 cent a share was proposed.

Wing Tai posts 142% rise in 2Q earnings to $54m

Property developer Wing Tai Holdings reported a 13% rise in revenue to $197.8 million and a 142% increase in earnings to $53.9 million for the three months ended Dec 31, 2010. The company says it will keep a close watch on the property market and will at appropriate times release more residential units for sale in the current FY.

SIA shares drop 1.5% after third-quarter earnings

Singapore Airlines fell 1.5% to a six-month low of $14.82 after the world’s second-biggest airline by stock market value reported a worse-than-expected drop in third-quarter profit due to charges to pay for antitrust fines.

Guocoland posts 64% drop in 2Q net earnings to $21.6m

Guocoland says net earnings dropped 64% to $21.6 million for the second quarter ended December 31, 2010 (FY2010) on the back of a 55% decrease in revenue to $162.8 million. The was led by lower sales contribution from its development projects in China. Meanwhile, share of profit from associates increased by $5.9 million in 2QFY2010, mainly due to higher share of profit from a Singapore associate after the successful sale of a penthouse unit in the quarter.

Keppel’s strong earnings push STI up at midday

Singapore shares were 0.48% higher by midday Wednesday, lifted by Keppel Corp (KPLM.SI) after it reported quarterly earnings that beat market expectations.

Shares of Keppel Corp, the world’s largest oil rig builder, rose as much as 3% on Wednesday after it reported a 17% rise in fourth quarter net profit and an improved dividend.

Keppel Corp +2.3% after record 4Q earnings

Keppel Corp. (BN4.SG) is up 2.3% at $11.60 in active trade after its 4Q earnings beat the street, with net profit of $403 million, the first time the S$400 million mark has been breached.

Phillip Securities says the results were above its expectations; it maintains its Buy call and raises its fair value to $13.40 from $12.52 (on an increased valuation for O&M to 15X vs 13.5X FY11E).

Keppel Land up on earnings, more upside seen

Shares of Singapore’s third-largest property developer Keppel Land (KLAN.SI) rose as much as 2.2% on Tuesday after it reported record net profit of over $1 billion for 2010.

At 9:40 a.m., shares of Keppel Land were 1.8% higher at $4.65 with over 1.3 million shares changing hands.

M1 off 2.4%; 4Q earnings almost spot on – OCBC

M1 (B2F.SG) down 2.4% at $2.44 with investors likely taking profit after the telco posted its 4Q results Wednesday, with the stock up 11.4% since the start of October, outperforming peers on the view it will benefit most from Singapore’s NBN rollout.

OCBC, that has a Buy rating, and tweaks fair value to $2.79 from $2.70 on M1’s lower capex guidance, says the results were “almost spot on our expectations.”

SGX falls slightly on missed Q2 earnings

Shares of Singapore Exchange (SGXL.SI), Asia’s second-largest listed bourse operator, fell as much as 0.47% on Tuesday after it posted lower-than-expected quarterly earnings.

At 9:35 a.m., Singapore Exchange was down 0.24% at $8.41 with 272,000 shares changing hands.

Daiwa tips mixed bag from S-REIT earnings

Ahead of the earnings release for Singapore REITs starting with Ascendas REIT (A17U.SG) later today, Daiwa says it expects “a mixed bag for net-property income and distribution-per-unit growth because several S-REITs completed major acquisitions and refinancing during the quarter.”

SATS off 0.4%; Earnings tweaked higher on TFK buy

SATS (S58.SG) off 0.4% at $2.83, giving back some of yesterday’s 0.7% gain which came amid a weak market on news the company has completed the acquisition of Japan Airlines International’s entire 50.7% stake in in-flight caterer TFK Corp. for $122 million.

Phillip Securities, which has a Buy call and raises its target to $3.48, says the purchase is a proxy to growth at Japan’s Narita and Haneda airports.

Noble Brazil buy likely earnings accretive: Analyst

Noble (N21.SG) is down 0.5% at $2.06, unmoved by a Brazilian media report that Noble will buy 2 mills from Grupo Cerradinho for around US$941 million ($1.2 billion).

“There isn’t much of a reaction in the market due to a few reasons. The valuation isn’t out, and without that it’s all just an abstract thing. But my view is that the chances of it being earnings accretive are quite high,” says an analyst at a local brokerage.

Olam +0.3%; Strong Earnings Trajectory – Nomura

Olam International (O32.SG) +0.3% at $3.08 with barely a million shares traded as the company’s latest acquisition in Africa fails to generate much interest in a very lackluster broad market.

Olam is buying tt Timber International — which will give it access to 1.6 million hectares of sustainable forest concession in Congo and Gabon — for EUR29.6 million (around $52 million), on a cash and debt-free basis; the transaction is expected to be completed by mid January.
