Bosnian envoy receives death threats

Bosnia-Herzegovina’s Ambassador to Spain Željana Zovko has received a threatening letter, saying she is a “Croatian terrorist” and that she will “be blown up”.

Names of certain Mohamed Nezirović and Faik Dizdarević are mentioned in the letter, among other things.

Russian envoy pessimistic about dialogue

Holbrooke in critical condition

Richard Holbrooke, the U.S. envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan, is in critical condition after undergoing surgery at a Washington hospital.

Doctors operated on Holbrooke Saturday to fix a tear in his aorta, a key heart artery. U.S. State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley says the 69-year-old diplomat has been joined by his family.

Kadri Ecved Tezcan said that Turks were quite happy in Austria but did not wish to be treated “like a virus”.

UK envoy: Serbs should take part in elections

British Ambassador to Serbia Stephen Wordsworth says Serbs in Kosovo should take part in the forthcoming elections there. It is “the parliament in PriÅ¡tina takes decisions which concern their lives”, he told B92, and added that “this would not mean recognizing Kosovo’s independence, that is not an issue for individual persons but for states”.

Envoy on Greek Kosovo intiative

Greece has introduced an initiative to “bring Belgrade and PriÅ¡tina back to dialog”, Greek Ambassador to Serbia Demosthenes Stoides said. U.S. envoy denies north comments

The ambassador of the United States to PriÅ¡tina has denied that he said Hashim Thaci was “prepared to offer to the north of Kosovo a kind of autonomy”.
According to the Albanian language media reports in Priština earlier today, Christopher Dell said this could be modeled after autonomies implemented in regions of Belgium, Austria and other Western European countries.
