The average net salary in Serbia in December 2010 was EUR 375, an increase of 14.1 percent in real terms or 14.9 percent nominally in comparison to November. This was announced by the Serbian Statistical Office on Tuesday in Belgrade.

Electronic tagging “will save money”
Electronic monitoring of offenders will save EUR 8.76mn each year, State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice Slobodan Homen told Tanjug on Sunday.

Serbia to pay less in Satellite Affair
Serbia will pay less than EUR 30mn, instead of almost EUR 40mn, to Israeli ImageSat company for the lease of one of its satellites, B92 has learned.
Representatives of the Serbian government have managed to significantly reduce the country’s debt during negotiations with the Israeli company.

The implementation of the Law on the Seizure of Property Stemming from Criminal Acts has enabled the authorities to confiscate EUR 250mn.
Justice Ministry State Secretary Slobodan Homen said that the law was fully implemented during 2010 and pointed out that this was the key regulation when it came to combat against organized crime, and expressed expectation that at least another EUR 100mn of ill-gotten wealth would be confiscated in 2011.
Telekom starting price set at EUR 1.4bn
The Serbian government decided on Thursday to set the minimum starting price for the sale of its 51 percent stake in Telekom Srbia at EUR 1.4bn. The government tasked the Finance Ministry and the working group for conducting the tender for the sale of state-owned telecommunications company shares with informing all participants in the tender for the privatization of the Serbian company about the initial price.
Public debt reaches 38.5% of GDP
Serbia’s public debt at the end of November 2010 reached EUR 11.62bn, which is 38.5 percent of GDP. The Serbian Finance Ministry said in Belgrade today that at the end of 2009, public debt was EUR 9.85bn, that is 32.9 percent of GDP, which means that in eleven months of 2010 it increased by about EUR 1.77bn.
Serbian external debt: EUR 23.1bn
Serbia’s external debt at the end of September 2010 totaled EUR 23.1bn, the central bank has announced. Out of this sum, the debt of the public sector amounted to EUR 8.9bn, while the private debt added up to EUR 14.2bn, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) stated in a release.
2011 funds allocated for country’s poor
Ministry of Labor adviser Ljubomir Pejaković announced that RSD 850mn will be provided for the poor in Serbia in 2011. The money – amounting to some EUR EUR 8mn – will be a form of emergency welfare, which will be the largest sum ever pent for this purpose.
Average October salary EUR 322
The average October net monthly salary in Serbia was RSD 34,422 (EUR 322), it has been announced. This is a nominal drop of less than 0.4 percent compared to September, while in real terms the figure is down 1.6 percent, the Statistical Office said on Thursday in Belgrade.
Earthquake damage “exceeds EUR 100mn”
Kraljevo Mayor Ljubisa Simović stated on Wednesday that the damage caused by an earthquake exceeds EUR 100mn. Simović told journalists that the city of Banja Luka in the Serb republic (RS) in Bosnia made a donation of EUR 25,000 to help the central Serbia town.
Government offers EUR 10mn for Mladić lead
The Serbian government decided today in Belgrade to offer a reward of EUR 10mn for “precise and reliable information” on Ratko Mladić. The wartime military leader of Bosnia’ Serbs is a fugitive wanted by the Hague Tribunal on charges of war crimes and genocide.
Public debt reaches 36.3 pct of GDP
Serbia’s public debt at the end of August was EUR 10.94bn, which equals 36.3 percent of GDP, the Serbian Finance Ministry has stated. At the end of 2009, the public debt was EUR 9.85bn, which means that in the first eight months of 2010 it increased by about EUR 1.1bn, the ministry stated on its website.
EU invested EUR 500mn in energy sector
The EU has invested around EUR 500mn in the Serbian energy sector since 2000, a gathering in Belgrade heard on Monday. This is according to Deputy Head of the Delegation of the EU to Serbia Adriano Martins, who announced that the EU will continue investing in this domain.
NBS foreign exchange reserves down in August
ÂForeign exchange reserves of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) declined by EUR 79.7mn in August. At the end of the month, the figure reached EUR 10, 012.2mn, the central bank stated on Thursday.
Priština allocates EUR 5 million for north
The Kosovo Albanian government has adopted a decision to establish a special fund “for the integration of Serbs in northern Kosovo”. PriÅ¡tina looks to spend EUR 5mn for that purpose.

The public debt of Serbia was EUR 10.74bn at the end of July, which is 32.5 percent of the GDP, the Finance Ministry announced Friday. At the end of 2009, public debt was EUR 9.85bn, which means that during the seven months of this year it was increased by about EUR 891mn, it was posted on the ministry’s website.
