Cosco unit wins $68m in contracts to build 2 bulk carriers

Cosco Corporation (Singapore) says Cosco (Guangdong) Shipyard Co., a unit of the company’s 51% owned subsidiary, Cosco Shipyard Group Co., has secured contracts valued over US$51 million ($68 million) to build two bulk carriers of 57,000 dwt and 35,000 dwt. The contracts are effective following receipt of the initial deposits from the European ship owner.

The bulk carriers which will be built at Cosco (Guangdong) shipyards are scheduled for deliveries in August 2012 and December 2012 respectively.

Cosco Corporation (S) unit delivers new bulk carrier to European owners

Cosco Corporation (Singapore) says subsidiary Cosco (Dalian) Shipyard Co. has delivered a new build 57,000 dwt bulk carrier, the M.V. VLAZAKIS I, to its buyer, a European ship owner.  Measuring 189.99 metres long, 32.26 metres wide and 18 metres high, M.V. VLAZAKIS I, has a draft of 12.8 metres, a continued voyage capacity of 18,000 nautical miles and a navigation speed of 14.2 knots.

Cosco units delay delivery of 5 bulk carriers; delivers 2 vessels

Cosco Corporation (Singapore) says that units Cosco (Dalian) Shipyard Co. and Cosco (Guangdong) Shipyard Co. have agreed to reschedule the delivery dates of five bulk carriers contracted by an European ship owner. The delivery dates for those five vessels will now be delayed by between four and 13 months till not later than 2012.

Meanwhile, Cosco Corporation (Singapore) says unit Cosco (Dalian) Shipyard Co. has delivered two new build ships, which are both 57,000 dwt bulk carriers, namely the M.V. Chang Shun II and the M.V. Ingrid C, to its buyers, who are Sino-African and European ship owners respectively.

Each bulk carrier measures 189.99m long, 32.26m wide and 18m high, has a draft of 12.8m and a navigation speed of 14.2 knots.
