Serbian War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir VukÄević says it “might be best” if the Kosovo organ trafficking probe were to be handled by “independent investigators”.
VukÄević spoke about a future investigation into organ trafficking allegations mentioned in Dick Marty’s report, adding that EULEX needs to be more effective in working on the case.

10 years since fall of Milošević regime
Today marks ten years since the fall of Slobodan MiloÅ¡ević’s regime, brought about by demonstrations staged on October 5, 2000. An estimated half a million people from all over Serbia took to the streets that day to protest, led by the 18-party opposition coalition dubbed DOS (the Democratic Opposition of Serbia), in a bid to force MiloÅ¡ević to concede his defeat in the presidential elections held on September 24, 2000.
Prosecutor: We’ll smoke Mladić out
Serbia’s War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir VukÄević told the media he would “smoke Ratko Mladić out of his hole”. VukÄević told Belgrade’s Press tabloid that work around the clock was being applied with this goal, and that the same approach was being used in the case of Goran Hadžić, a former political leader of Serbs in Croatia.
Postal service manager arrested
Police have taken Serbia’s postal service, PTT, Deputy Director MiloÅ¡ MiÅ¡Äević into custody on Sunday, in connection to a recent election scandal.
MiÅ¡Äević is also a senior official of the ruling Democratic Party (DS). He is suspected of organizing the distribution of false payment slips with opposition Serb Progressive Party (SNS) logos ahead of the recent elections in the eastern town of Bor.
War crimes prosecutor in trip to UK
Serbia’s War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir VukÄević visited London on Wednesday, said reports. VukÄević was there in order to exchange information with his British colleagues about the case of Ejup Ganić, according to Tanjug.
Suspected mass grave to be excavated
Excavation will soon begin near the town of RaÅ¡ka, where a suspected mass grave is located, says War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir VukÄević. VukÄević told B92 TV on Monday that it is not known who killed the victims, while witnesses said that the site might contain the bodies of 250 Kosovo Albanians.

War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir VukÄević said that the prosecution is on the brink of a major discovery in cases related to Kosovo criminal activity. “At this moment, I can only say that these pieces of evidence will make the process-legal situation in several Kosovo cases a lot easier,†VukÄević told daily Blic.

Serbia “to convince British courts†in Ganić case
War Crimes Prosecutor Vladimir VukÄević said that he would do everything possible to convince the London courts to extradite Ejup Ganić to Serbia. VukÄević will be attending a hearing in London on Tuesday, at which the extradition will be discussed.
Four years since Milošević’s death
Today marks the fourth anniversary of the death of former president of Serbia and Federal Republic of Yugoslavia Slobodan Milošević. Milošević died while in custody at the Hague Tribunal.
