Germany’s ruling coalition remains divided over whether there should be new legislation requiring companies to put more women in their boardrooms.
Christian Democrat Labor Minister Ursula von der Leyen has put forth a plan that would see 30 percent of executive positions in Germany’s large companies filled by women, beginning in 2013.

IBM, Intel Executives Involved in Ongoing Insider Trading Case

The $25 million insider trading scandal that touched such IT heavyweights as AMD, IBM and Intel has now led to charges against six people from Silicon Valley and Wall Street. The case continues to roil both coasts. Federal prosecutors say executives from IBM, Intel and McKinsey Co. gave nonpublic information on such companies as AMD, Sun Microsystems, Google, PolyCom and Akamai to two directors at two hedge funds, Galleon Management and New Castle Funds, which used the information to make their trades. Most of the companies are cooperating with investigators, and some – including Intel, McKinsey and Akamai – reportedly are conducting their own internal probes. Intel also put Rajiv Goel, an executive with its treasury department, on administrative leave after the charges were brought against him and five others. Google Search Executives Tout New Search Ad Formats

Google showed how it is leveraging site links, videos, product, local and map information as vehicles for new ad opportunities. For example, Google users interested in purchasing an automobile can type in Chevy and see options for site links that will take them to four separate Web pages for different Chevy models. Broadpoint AmTech analyst Benjamin Schachter said Google is trying to get advertisers to spend more money with the company by helping advertisers increase ad effectiveness through new tools and ad formats.
