Brightoil takes extra fuel oil storage in Singapore

China’s Brightoil (0933.HK) has leased additional fuel oil storage capacity in the Singapore oil trading hub, making its total tankage comparable to the product’s top players, industry sources said on Friday.
The Hong Kong-listed firm, which has ambitions to be a global oil trading force, has leased 100,000-120,000 cubic metres (cu m) of capacity from Singapore-listed Chemoil at its Helios Terminal, taking its total to 300,000-320,000 cu m, for three months starting in October, the sources said.

Singapore-based container shipping line Samudera Shipping Line says it has added an additional vessel to the Kolkata-Haldia express service in response to increasing demand for cargo to and from Kolkata.
Samudera says the new gearless vessel with a capacity of 629 TEUs will offer customers an improved frequency of one trip every week between Singapore and Kolkata compared to one trip through Kolkata every 16 days previously.

Microsoft began rolling out its Web browser choice screen, which lets European users of Windows 7 choose a browser other than Internet Explorer. Designed to settle the concerns of the European Commission, Europes antitrust regulatory body, the browser ballot screen is being praised by some companies but downplayed by others. One nonprofit organization is suggesting that the ballot screen needs to be instituted for Windows 7 users worldwide, while one browser company is complaining that the structure of the ballot screen favors browsers with more market share, such as Firefox and Chrome, at the expense of smaller players.
