Fleet Foxes Announce New Album & World Tour

FOLLOW UP TO 2008 DEBUT OUT MAY 3; TOUR STARTS APRIL 30

On May 3, Fleet Foxes will
release Helplessness Blues (Sub Pop/Bella Union), the much-anticipated follow up to their 2008
self-titled debut. The release of the twelve-track album will coincide with the band’s first North American tour
dates since August 2009 followed by a string of UK and European dates. The tour will begin in Vancouver on April
30 and end in London, England. More tour information, including North American ticket pre-sale, provided below.
Fleet Foxes have made the title-track of the album available for download now.

Beginning Tuesday, February 1 at 9:00 AM Pacific time, tickets for the North American leg can be purchased online
at www.fleetfoxes.com. Ticket prices will vary. Fleet Foxes pre-sale tickets are available while supplies last.

Singapore’s Tiger Airways extends 2 aircraft leases to boost fleet

Singapore budget carrier Tiger Airways (TAHL.SI) will extend leases on two Airbus A320 aircraft for a further 18 months starting from January, it said on Thursday.
 
This will boost its fleet to 28 aircraft from 26, Tiger Airways, which is part owned by Singapore Airlines, said in a statement.
 
Tiger also said it carried 5.7 million passengers for the 12 months ended Nov 30, 34% more than it did in the same period a year earlier.

Global A380 fleet needs to swap 40 engines: Qantas (Update)

About 40 Rolls-Royce (RR.L) engines used in the world’s fleet of Airbus A380 aircraft may need to be replaced to ensure safety after one such engine partly disintegrated mid-flight this month, Australia’s Qantas (QAN.AX) said.

That would represent about half of all Rolls-Royce engines currently in service on A380 aircraft, the world’s largest passenger plane with a list price of around US$350 million ($455 million) each.

Tiger Air says to double fleet to 43 by 2013

Singapore-listed budget carrier Tiger Airways (TAHL.SI) plans to double its fleet size of Airbus A320-family aircraft to 43 from 21 currently by 2013, the firm said on Monday.

Tiger, 33.4% owned by Singapore Airlines (SIAL.SI), has previously said that it aims to boost its fleet size to 68 aircraft by December 2015.
