Bosnian official cancels meeting with Turkish FM

Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency Chairman Nebojša Radmanović cancelled a meeting with Turkish FM Ahmet Davutoglu on Saturday, following a diplomatic incident.

The Turkish delegation demanded that the flag of the Republic of Srpska (RS) be removed from the conference room, Radmanović’s cabinet has announced.

Serbian FM urges African Union support

Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić thanked on Thursday African countries for their support to Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also urged them to support an investigation into the allegations presented in the report on human organ trafficking in Kosovo.

Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić will arrive on a one-day visit to Spain on Wednesday, the MFA in Belgrade announced. In Madrid, Jeremić will meet with the country’s Foreign Minister Trinidad Jimenez.

Former Czechoslovak dissident, FM dies

Former Czechoslovak dissident, Foreign Minister and UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in former Yugoslavia Jiri Dienstbier died in Prague.

His wife Jirina told Czech new agency ÄŒTK that he died at the hospital after a long illness at the age of 73.

Swiss FM changes mind about “Kosovo award”

German FM: Belgrade-Priština talks after elections

German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle expressed his belief on Saturday that the Sunday elections in Kosovo would be a successful day for democracy.

“I hope that, soon after the elections, the new government in PriÅ¡tina will start direct talks with Serbia in order to begin solving everyday problems,” Westerwelle said in view of Kosovo elections, the German Foreign Ministry announced.

FM: Speculations on resignation harmful

Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić has stated that speculations on his dismissal are harmful.

He thinks that such allegations are sending a wrong signal to the world that there is a lack of unity within the Serbian state authorities regarding foreign policy’s goals and priorities, which “certainly is not the case.”
