FM: Serbia wants Kosovo compromise

Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić stated in an interview for Austrian state radio that Serbia is in favor of a compromise solution regarding Kosovo. The minister, was was in Vienna on Monday attending an OSCE session, added that Belgrade would keep insisting on negotiations on the status of the province.

FM attends OSCE meeting in Vienna

Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić today taking part in the meeting of the Permanent Council of the OSCE in Vienna, Austria. Jeremić expressed his expectation that, after the International Court of Justice (ICJ) gives its advisory opinion on Kosovo’s unilateral declaration of independence, the UN General Assembly will invite the parties to arrive at consensual solutions to all outstanding issues peacefully, through dialogue.

Slovak FM: Cooperation with Hague priority

Slovak Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčak said that the number one question concerning Serbia for the EU is whether Hague cooperation will be completed. “Hague Chief Prosecutor Brammertz told us that cooperation is at an acceptable level, even though his report was not as positive as it was six months ago,” he said.

FM attends CEI meeting in Montenegro

Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić said that Serbia supports strengthening of neighborly relations in the region and the EU integration of the Western Balkans. At the ministerial meeting of the Central European Initiative (CEI) in Montenegro today, Jeremić said that Serbia was decisive on its road toward the EU, which was the government’s chief priority.

Hungarian FM expects SAA ratification to begin

Hungarian Foreign Minister Janos Martonyi said that the EU Council of Ministers will most likely approve the start of the SAA ratification process with Serbia. He told daily Danas that there are countries in the EU that are a bit hesitant, however.

Hungarian FM meets with top officials

Hungarian Foreign Minister Janos Martonyi is vising Serbia for meetings with the country’s top officials. On Thursday, Martonyi said that his country wants the ratification of Serbia’s Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) with the EU to start and its EU candidacy bid to come before the European Commission as soon as possible.

FM meets with Chilean counterpart

Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić met with his Chilean counterpart Alfredo Moreno Charme during an official visit to Santiago.

Jeremić and Chilean Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Fernando Schmidt Aristia signed an agreement for cooperation between the diplomatic academies of the two ministries.

FM meets with Slovak president

Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič met in Bratislava on Thursday with Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić. He commended Serbia for “preparing well” for EU membership, said reports.

EU integration must continue, says Serbian FM

FM praises Mali’s support over Kosovo

Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić expressed gratitude to Mali on Friday for not having recognized the Kosovo Albanian UDI. FM Vuk Jeremić stated at the UN Security Council session late on Monday that Serbia is not setting any prerequisites for opening a dialog on Kosovo. He added that progress was not possible by taking unilateral actions.

FM: Kosovo in Sarajevo only with UNMIK

Serbia finds it unacceptable for Kosovo to be represented in Sarajevo as a sovereign state, says Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić.

Less than a month before the EU-Western Balkans summit in Sarajevo, Serbian officials are saying that the only acceptable option is for Priština – i.e., Kosovo Albanian authorities – to be represented in line with Resolution 1244.

FM in Strasbourg, PM in Switzerland
