Ghana confirms stance on Kosovo

Ghana will not recognize Kosovo as independent, Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić said in Accra, Ghana. He told FoNet news agency that this African country will “continue to respect Serbia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity”.

Foreign minister travels to Pakistan

Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić will pay a one-day visit to Pakistan on Thursday. This has been announced in Belgrade by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Foreign minister travels to Spain

Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić will visit Spain this Tuesday and confer with his counterpart Miguel Angel Moratinos. He will also meet with Congress President Jose Bono, the Serbian Foreign Ministry said on Monday.

Government to increase foreign worker levies over 3 years

Singapore will increase levies for companies hiring foreign workers as the country attempts to depend less on overseas labour, Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam said.

Levies will be increased in a phased manner over the next three years, Shanmugaratnam told Parliament today in the nation’s budget speech.

Jeremić, Ashton discuss integrations, Kosovo

Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić met on Friday in Belgrade with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton. After the meeting, Jeremić expressed the readiness of official Belgrade to continue to jointly work with Brussels on the EU accession of the West Balkans.

“EU won’t accept break-up of Bosnia”

EU Foreign and Security Policies Chief Catherine Ashton said in Sarajevo that Brussels will not accept a break-up of Bosnia-Herzegovina. “The EU is completely dedicated to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of this country and its current borders defined by the Dayton Peace Accord,” Ashton told daily Dnevni Avaz.

Conference on Western Balkans in March?

EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton supports Slovenian PM Borut Pahor’s intention to organize an international conference on Western Balkans in March. The Slovenian PM has launched the initiative together with Croatian counterpart Jadranka Kosor and this should be the first meeting of all political leaders from the region after 18 years.
