UOB unit forms fund JV in China
United Overseas Bank said today its UOB Asset Management unit had been approved to set up a joint venture fund management firm in China with China Ping An Trust Co. and Sanya Yingwan Tourism Co.
The joint venture, named Ping An UOB Fund Management Co., will have a paid up capital of 300 million yuan ($59 million), in which UOB Asset will hold a 25% stake.
Ping An Trust, a unit of Ping An Insurance (Group) (2318.HK), and Sanya Yingwan will hold 64% and 11% of the remaining shares respectively.

Wilmar forms venture with Kerry Properties, Shangri-La China
Wilmar International said a unit signed an agreement with Kerry Properties (China) and Shangri-La China to set up joint ventures to develop properties in China’s Liaoning province. The unit’s investment in the venture will be about 889.2 million yuan ($176 million), based on a maximum total investment by the venture of 2.57 billion yuan.

Mainboard-listed Transcu says wholly-owned subsidiary Nanomizer Inc. has formed a jpint venture with Nedo (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization) in Japan to undertake development of a new type of bio-fuel using crude palm oil.
If the project is successful and goes into commercialisation, Transcu’s subsidiary, Transcu Green Fuel will have the exclusive rights to promote, market, distribute and sell this system and its related products around the world.

EMS Energy says subsidiary Oilfield Services & Supplies (OSS) has established Tianhe Oil (Singapore) (TOS), a Singapore incorporated joint venture (JV) company with Tianhe Oil Group Co.
OSS has a 20% equity stake in TOS, with the remaining 80% equity stake belonging to Tianhe Oil Group. The total paid-up capital of TOS is $500,000. TOS will be engaged in the trading of Tianhe Oil Group’s range of drilling and fishing tools.
Yanlord unit forms JV with GIC unit to develop prime residential development in Chengdu
Yanlord Land Group says Yanlord Land Pte Ltd (YLPL) has entered into a joint venture with an affiliate of GIC Real Estate (GICRE) to set up a new subsidiary for the development of a prime residential development site in Panchenggang, Jinjiang district in Chengdu.
GICRE’s affiliate, Reco Yizhong Private Limited, will own 75% of Yanlord Property Investments Pte Ltd, while YLPL will own the remaining 25% interest.
The project has a total planned gross floor area of about 390,658 square metres.

China Kunda Technology Holdings, the provider of precision moulds, plastic injection parts and In-Mould-Decoration (IMD) products to the car and consumer electronics industries, says its wholly-owned subsidiary Kunda Mould (Shenzhen) has formed a RMB50 million ($10.4 million) Joint Venture (JV) with Jilin Guoan Group Co. to establish an automotive mould manufacturing plant in Changchun, Jilin Province, China.
Sembcorp forms JVs in Brazil
Sembcorp Industries says it has formed a joint venture company, SMU Energia e Serviços de Utilidades Ltda (SMU), in which its wholly-owned subsidiary Sembcorp Utilities (BVI) Pte Ltd (SCU BVI) holds a 33.3% share, Utilitas Participações S.A. holds a 33.3% share and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. holds a 33.4% share.
SMU has further signed an agreement with Comperj Participações S.A. to form an 80-20 joint venture, Companhia de Desenvolvimento de Plantas de Utilidades (CDPU), which, among other objectives, will explore the feasibility of the implementation of a utilities project in Brazil.
