Nortel Gains in Resurgent VOIP Market: Dell’Oro

Nortel Networks, which is selling off parts of its business as it tries to rebound after filing for bankruptcy earlier this year, was the top VOIP vendor in the second quarter, according to analyst firm DellOro Group. Smaller vendors also gained share, while some larger companies, including Huawei and Nokia Siemens, lost share. Overall, revenue in the VOIP space grew 7 percent from the first quarter.

IT Gives Back Job Gains Between August and July

Looking more closely at monthly numbers released by the Department of Labor, one IT careers analyst firm believes things are headed in the right direction. Even with some up and down movement in technology job numbers, Foote Partners sees a better fourth quarter for IT jobs than the general job data suggests.

AMD, Intel and Nvidia contributed to what Jon Peddie Research is describing as the best second quarter, quarter-to-quarter change in nine years.
