Fueled by the success of the 2008 & 2009 New Year’s Eve parties, Highland Entertainment is making plans to do it all
again as Dallas welcomes 2011. Guests will enjoy an expansive and luxurious setting at the Plaza of the Americas
and The Dallas Marriot-City Center Hotel. Holders of a VIP ticket to the party will enjoy top-shelf liquor, champagne,
wine, beer, 3 live acts, and 2 DJ’s, and access to private stage and 2 nd story views. Holders of a General Admission
ticket will enjoy a cash bar, and mainstage access to the 3 live acts, and 2 DJ’s.

The “feel free to look good” event promises show-stopping elements, including state of the art production, and

Philharmonia 2010 Concert

The Unbroken Chain Foundation will present Philharmonia 2010, an acoustic Holiday Concert with Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Jackie Greene, Grahame Lesh, Sunshine Becker and Jeff Pehrson on Sunday, December 12, 2010. This is an intimate concert in support of the Bay Area Women’s & Children’s Center. Please feel free to bring an unwrapped book or board game for a child between the ages of 3-12.

Doors open at 2:30 pm with a 3:00 pm showtime. San Francisco venue information will be provided with ticket purchase confirmation. Your name will be left at will call on the day of the performance. Photo I’D and confirmation letter will be required.
No Name Changes, and tickets may not be transferred or sold.

Tickets are available via credit card only for $160.00 General Admission.
The first send in date was December 2, 2010, with a four-ticket limit per person.

Located in the heart of San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood, the Bay Area Women’s & Children’s Center is a unique presence. In the multi-ethnic Tenderloin, BAWCC works with more than 700 families and individuals every month at the Tenderloin Community School & Family Center and at their Center on Leavenworth Street. All of BAWCC’s services and programs are provided at no cost to the participants. BAWCC is able to accomplish this work with a very small but experienced core staff, and a great many volunteers who help a many areas of BAWCC programs. BAWCC has never sought government funding, and is 100% privately funded.

The first annual Bandwagon Roadshow, a collision of car culture and live music at Festival Field at the Orlando Citrus Bowl in Florida, will take place September 4, 2010.

The Labor Day Weekend event will feature over 15 nationally known acts on two stages, and the Florida Roadshow Competition will feature hundreds of classic cars from around the state, from hot rods to low riders and everything in between vying for $10,000 in cash, prizes and custom built trophies. A celebrity panel of judges will award one lucky winner the coveted best in show “Bad Hat” trophy containing a $2,500 cash prize.

Prior to thundering on to Festival Field, the celebrity car procession will take to the streets of downtown Orlando at 5:00 PM, featuring the finest 15 cars of the competition, including top celebrity drivers to be announced in coming weeks.

Legendary folk-rock-pop troubadour Donovan (“Mellow Yellow,” “Sunshine Superman,” “Epistle to Dippy,” “There is a Mountain,” “Wear Your Love Like Heaven,” “Hurdy Gurdy Man,” etc.) will headline a benefit concert for the David Lynch Foundation on Friday, March 19 at the El Rey Theater. About The David Lynch Foundation:

The David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace was founded in July 2005 by the award winning filmmaker David Lynch with the immediate goal of teaching one million at-risk youth to meditate. The Disco Biscuits have teamed up with HeadCount to stage Bisco Power Mission – a benefit concert and volunteer initiative to help outfit a Philadelphia public school with solar power. The concert will be at held at Brooklyn Bowl, the nation’s largest LEED Certified green music venue, in Brooklyn, NY on Sunday, March 21.


When The Disco Biscuits played Brooklyn Bowl on October 11 last year, tickets sold out in less than a minute. Tickets for Bisco Power Mission go on sale Thursday, February 25 at 12 p.m. EST through BiscoTix and Friday, February 26 at 12 p.m. EST through Ticketfly. General Admission tickets are $40 and a limited number of VIP/Bowling tickets are available for $75. Free bowling all night. Lanes are assigned on a first come, first serve basis. A Celebration of Jim McPherson

BELOVED BAY AREA MUSICIAN/SONGWRITER REMEMBERED

Jim McPherson was a rising star in the Bay Area music scene of the ’70s and early ’80s, playing and writing with folks like John Cipollina, Jefferson Starship, Robert Hunter, Mickey Hart, Merl Saunders, Bobby Vega, The Doobie Brothers’ John McFee, Kathi McDonald and many more. He passed in 1985 after a long illness. At long last, his widow Evy has organized and produced a collection of his unreleased work. These tunes were digitized by Paul Stubblebein and mixed and mastered by Tom Size. The CD, A Promise Kept, is now available. Dead Heads will be interested to know that quite a few of these cuts were recorded at The Barn, on Mickey Hart‘s ranch, by Dan Healy, and feature Mickey on drums.

On Thursday, October 1, his friends and family will hold a special event at Mill Valley’s 142 Throckmorton Theatre, “A Promise Kept/A Celebration of Jim McPherson”. Many of the musicians who played with McPherson will be involved, including Nick Gravenites, David Freiberg, Bobby Vega, Prairie Prince, Michael Hinton, Snooky Flowers, Chris Smith, Steve Schuster, Tom Bryant, Dennis Carrasco, Kathi McDonald, Linda Imperial, Diana Mangano, plus many more. Few musicians are remembered more fondly; come and find out why!

Rock for MS is the major fundraising event for MSFriends, that is conceived under the leadership of president, Amelia Davis, and inspired by Jim Marshall, one of the world’s most renowned rock music photographers and winner in 2004 of the prestigious photography Lifetime Achievement Lucie Award.

More than ten years ago, Jim Marshall hired Amelia as his assistant knowing she had MS, and since then Jim has become a passionate advocate for the needs of people living with MS.

Through Jim’s influence, other well-known rock photographers such as Henry Diltz, Baron Wolman, Neal Preston, Michael Zagaris and others to pitch in and donate their work for auction or sale. MSFriends has established a powerful, high profile presence in three of the most important music and photography centers in this country: San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York.
