Noble Group hires Senior VP of Nuclear Fuels

Noble Group, the global supply chain manager of bulk commodities, today announced the appointment of Crispin Collier to the post of Senior Vice-President — Nuclear Fuels.

A graduate of The University of Cape Town and The Harvard Business School, Collier started his business career with Mckinsey and Company in South Africa.

His subsequent career experience has seen him working with BHP Billiton in a number of locations — principally in South America, South Africa and Asia.

Noble Group buys Midwest oil & gas across central US

Noble Group, the global supply chain manager, says wholly-owned subsidiary Noble Petro Inc., has agreed to acquire certain assets of Northville Product Services (NPS), a wholly-owned division of NIC Holding Corp., a Melville, Long Island-based international petroleum and renewable fuels trading, marketing and distribution company.

Noble Group posts 28% rise in 1Q net profit to US$115m

Noble Group, the global supply chain manager of agricultural, metals, minerals and ores, and energy products, as well as logistics services provider, has posted a net profit of US$115 million ($160 million) for the first quarter ended March 31, 2010 (1QFY2010), compared to US$90 million in the first quarter of 2009.

Noble opens grain and oilseed complex in Argentina

Noble Group (SGX: N21), the global supply chain manager of agricultural, energy, metals and other natural resources, says of its new Oilseed Processing Complex in Argentina has turned operational.

The complex, built adjacent to the Timbúes Port Grain Terminal, also establishes Noble’s first South American oilseed processing facility and expands the group’s capabilities.

Noble’s Turkey unit secures $42m loan from European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

Noble Hammadde Ticaret AS, a grain and oilseeds business operating in Turkey and a wholly-owned subsidiary of global supply chain manager Noble Group (SGX: N21), has secured a US$30 million ($42 million) loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to support the company’s further development.

Noble Group posts 4% fall in full-year net profit US$556m

Noble Group (SGX: N21), the global supply chain manager of agricultural, metals, minerals and ores, and energy products, says it achieved a revenue of US$31.2 billion ($44 billion) fiscal 2009 supported by record group tonnage volumes.

Noble says it handled 180.3 million tonnes, an increase of 27% compared to the year 2008. Despite the weak economic environment, six of Noble’s key business divisions including: Oil, Gas & Power; Coal & Coke; Iron Ore; Aluminum; Sugar; and Chartering reported record tonnage volume levels.

Noble Group completes syndication of US$2.4b in revolving loans

Noble Group, the global supply chain manager of agricultural, industrial and energy products, says the syndication for its revolving credit facilities has been closed “at record levels”.

The facilities were launched with a target size of US$1.8 billion ($2.5 billion).

Noble Group launches tender to re-purchase up to US$340m of existing notes

Noble Group (SGX: NOBL), the global supply chain manager of agricultural, metals, minerals and ores, and energy products, as well as logistics services, says it plans to issue US-dollar fixed-rate senior notes due 2020.

The company says it will make an announcement of the definitive terms of the 2020 Notes include the size of the issue, following pricing.

Moody’s upgrades Noble’s debt securities to investment grade

Noble Group (SGX: NOBL), the global supply chain manager of agricultural, metals, minerals and ores, and energy products, as well as logistics services, says Moody’s Investors Service ratings has upgraded its to debt securities to investment grade with a stable outlook.

The announcement affects roughly US$1.2 billion ($1.67 billion) of the group’s debt securities as well as its corporate group company ratings which have now been upgraded to Baa3.
