David Gray and his band
will be kicking off the 2011 “Lost and Found tour” in Boston, MA on February 21. The tour will center on tracks from
his 2010 album Foundling, as well as reinterpretations of songs from his entire catalogue. Ticket
presales and onsales begin this week.
Says Gray, “The ‘Lost and Found’ tour embodies more than just an opportunity to play some of the quieter, more
intimate songs not only from ‘Foundling’, but from across my catalogue, it also provides a long anticipated platform
for a completely different approach. In terms of the way that the sound of the music is captured and presented, it
will be more like a recording session than a gig in many ways. Acoustic instruments will be miced up for their real
sound, rather than going for the usual pick-up sound, and as a result volume levels both for the band and the
audience will have to be kept much lower than at your average ‘rock’ show. Hopefully the sonic results will be more
than worth the sacrifice of a few decibels. Essentially the ‘Lost and Found’ show will be a listening
experience.”

Vincent Gallo is set to embark on an 11 date tour with his band RRIICCEE. Joining him on stage will
be musicians Woody Jackson and Nico Turner. Gallo, a movie actor, filmmaker and musician, is
the critically acclaimed writer and director of such films like Buffalo 66 and The Brown Bunny. He
has released two solo albums on the British recording label, Warp Records and also collaborated with the artist Jean-
Michel Basquiat in the New York no-wave musical group Gray.
RRIICCEE is a spontaneous collective between Gallo and other multi-instrumentalists, hand-picked by him,
consisting of different members each tour. On stage, they exhibit the creation of composition within a live
performance. The outfit does not perform pre-written music and is not limited to the
boundaries of one specific musical genre. At the present time, RRIICCEE has no recorded music and has no plans on
recording a commercial release.

The Wall Street Journal turns its attention to parents using iPad and iPad apps to educate and communicate with special needs children. Shannon Rosa, an advocate and writer whose nine-year-old son, Leo, has autism and uses an iPad says, “It’s portable and something he can carry, and yet it’s large enough to be accessible. There’s no cursor analogy he has to work through; it’s a direct connection.†Holly Gray, whose daughter, Caleigh, has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, uses an app that speaks the words associated with pictures she touches on the screen. Says Gray, “We’re not having to fight to prove to people that she is a smart little girl anymore, because it’s there once they see her using the iPad.â€
