Bus and trolley bus workers are holding a two-day strike, while metro employees defied a court order to walk off the job, defying a court order to keep services running, the Associated Press reported.

Greek parliament ratifies Serbia’s SAA with EU
The Greek parliament has ratified Serbia’s Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA) with the European Union, the Greek embassy in Belgrade announced today.
Greek Ambassador to Serbia Dimostenis Stoidis pointed out that the ratification is a practical expression of the commitment with which Greece has supported Serbia’s EU membership, as part of its Agenda 2014 initiative, designed to accelerate the European integration of the countries in the Western Balkans.

Singapore says world outlook mixed after record 2010
Singapore’s economy faces a “mixed” global outlook after growing by a record pace this year, according to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
Gross domestic product rose 14.7% this year, Lee, 58, said in his New Year message released in Singapore today. That compares with the government’s November forecast of a 15% expansion. The trade ministry predicts the economy will expand 4% to 6% in 2011, an estimate reiterated by Lee.
“The outlook for the world economy is mixed,” Lee said. “The U.S. economy is still weak. Europe faces serious debt crises in Greece, Ireland and a few other countries.”

Macedonian PM Nikola Gruevski told B92 that a referendum on his country’s name would be announced “as soon as there was a proposal”.
