IIFL sees green shoots for Singapore banks

IIFL says Singapore banks are the cheapest in the Asean region with 1.2x-1.6x forward P/B, 10x-12x forward P/E and dividend yield of 4%-5% after they underperformed their regional peers this year.

The house says such underperformance was mainly due to the overhang of NIM contraction, as Sibor declined by 24 bps during 2010 to a 23-year low.

Flogging Molly: 2011 Green 17 Tour Dates

Molly have announced dates for their 7th Annual Green 17 Tour, which crosses the U.S. from February 8
through March 19 (see dates below). The Green 17 Tour was born in 2004 as a countdown to St Patrick’s Day with a
performance celebration in each city leading to the holiday.

The band is currently in Asheville, NC recording their new album with producer Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers,
The Avett Brothers). Songs from the upcoming 2011 release will be performed during the Green 17 Tour. Special
guests for the tour will be announced shortly.

Yamada Green records 54.1% growth in 9M net profit to $12.2m

Mainboard-listed Yamada Green Resources, the supplier of self-cultivated shiitake mushrooms in China, says profit after tax increased 54.8% to RMB62.6 million ($12.2 million) in the nine months ended 30 September 2009 (9M2009) to RMB198.6 million in 9M2010 from RMB40.5 million in 9M2009. Revenue increased by 43.6% from RMB138.3 million ($27 million).

The revenue increase was mainly attributable to the 55% increase in Yamada’s self- cultivated mushrooms from 62.2 million in 9M2009 to RMB96.4 million in 9M2010. This was because Yamada operated an aggregate of 2,213 mu of cultivation bases for self-cultivated shiitake mushrooms in 9M2010 compared to 1,660 mu in 9M2009. The average selling price of fresh self-cultivated shiitake mushrooms was also higher at RMB6.5/kg for the period under review, representing an 8.3% or RMB0.5/kg increase compared to 9M2009.

Yamada Green started at Buy by DMG, with $0.40 target

DMG starts Yamada Green Resources (MC7.SG) at Buy with $0.40 target price, based on 5x FY11 P/E, says Dow Jones.

DMG says China-based shiitake mushroom farmer well-placed to benefit from country’s favorable conditions for agriculture industry: “The growing long-term demand coupled with constrained supply situation would result in a general upward bias on prices that would benefit growers.”

Research house tips 5% rise in average selling price for Yamada’s products in FY11. Forecasts net profit +50% at RMB114 million ($22.1 million) in FY10, +42% at RMB161 million in FY11.

Shares +1.8% at $0.285.

SGX gets competition green light on any ASX bid

Australia’s competition watchdog effectively gave the Singapore Exchange (SGX) <SGXL.SI> a green light on Monday to pursue a takeover of Australian stock exchange operator ASX <ASX.AX>, saying it did not see any major concerns.

SGX is likely to offer as much as US$8.3 billion ($10.8 billion) for ASX in a statement expected as early as Monday, a source with knowledge of the deal told Reuters at the weekend.

Yamada Green Resources (MC7.SG) up 3.6% at $0.285, extending 25.7% loss since start of this week, as players continue to sell on strength after robust 68.2% gain on debut last Friday, according to Dow Jones.

Kim Eng Securities, which has no rating, says stock now trading below sector’s average 9x-10x P/E; “with its 1Q10 net profit already accounting for 66% of its FY09 full-year net profit, the current stock price might not have priced in a record year in the making.”
