Riverstone says 2Q net profit grew 43% to $4.1m
Mainboard-listed Riverstone Holdings, the manufacturer of cleanroom gloves, says net profit for the three months ended 30 June 2010 (2Q 2010) grew 43% to RM9.7 million ($4.1 million) from RM6.8 million in 2Q 2009.
Riverstone says group revenue rose 43% to RM54 million on continued strong demand for cleanroom and healthcare gloves.
Gross profit rose 40% from RM11.2 million to RM15.7 million and gross margins fell slightly from 30% to 29% on the back of higher raw material prices.
SGX says commodities and derivatives activity grew in June
Singapore Exchange (SGX) said today that its commodities and clearing businesses continued to enjoy strong growth in June.
Securities trading saw a slower month in June. Securities daily average value was S$1.2 billion, down 26% year on year.

Apple Mac Shipments Grew in Q3, but HP, Acer, Dell Dominate
Apple, which does not participate in the netbook trend, shipped 1.6 million mobile computers in the third quarter, according to Gartner. The overall PC market also unexpectedly grew in the third quarter of 2009, though it still saw a revenue loss due to falling prices.
– In the third quarter of 2009, Apple’s computer shipments reached 1.6 million units, an increase from the 1.5 million Macs the company shipped during the third quarter of 2008. The number boosted Apples PC vendor market share to 8.8 percent, for a growth of 6.8 percent year over year.
